This Morning

well i woke up because rowan was crying and i got up and picked her up and right away i felt really horrible so i put her down on the bed and i ran to the bathroom because i felt like throwing up. i didn't throw up though but i had this intense paint all over the left side of my head and neck and i think that's what was making me want to throw up. it felt like a neck cramp from sleeping wrong but about a million times more painful. when i tried to stand up from over the toilet i started getting really dizzy and i went to find the phone to call someone and i found it and took it into the kitchen to get the numbers off the fridge and everything was like fading out and then i couldn't see anything at all. like i was still conscious but i was completely blind, like feeling my way around. i tried to call my dad but it was pretty much impossible without being able to see and i could tell i was about to pass out, but i felt like i was fighting it. next i woke up on the kitchen floor and at first i couldn't move. especially my neck. when i tried to move, like even turn my neck, my vision would start slowing going away. i kept trying to call my dad and his work number was busy, and his cell phone was off. i had like a small list of phone numbers and i tried calling all of them, they are all like family friends, but i could get no one. then the freaken phone died on me. i tried getting up and finding the other phone. besides being in excruciating pain i managed, things were blurry and dark and such. i got that phone and i scrolled through the caller i.d. to see if there were any numbers on there that i could call. i found my dad's girlfriends work number and i called her and bawled to her about how i couldn't do anything and needed to go to the hospital and someone needed to watch rowan. she came to my apartment and got rowan ready and i got ready (i couldn't even put on my freaken coat) and i just cried the whole way to the hospital. i got to skip through all the people in the waiting area though and they gave me a shot of some sort of pain killer in my ass because i'd freak out when the dr tried to touch my neck. and they sent me in for x-rays.

so what was wrong with me?

well. nothing. they don't know. he gave me some freaken pills to relax the muscles in my neck and said maybe i slept on it wrong and some t3's for pain. but that doesn't say anything about why i couldn't freaken see or move and passed out. i was so scared you guys. i seriously thought i was going to die this morning because i felt like i was fighting with myself to stay conscious, my whole body just felt "wrong". and i kept wondering if the neighbors would be able to hear rowan cry or if she'd be alone crying until my dad got home from work and how i didn't want her to have to live with erik if something really bad happened to me. now i feel alright. i can't move my neck much but it's a lot better than earlier because of the pain medication and stuff and my dad and his girlfriend are going to help with rowan today after work and she is sleeping now. i just thought i'd let you all know.

Yikes, .tanya....that's scary! I'm glad nothing is seriously wrong, but that leaves you with the question..will it happen again? I would go back to another doctor for a second opinion to be sure. It almost sounds like a pinched nerve or something. I hope you start feeling better!

yes i feel a lot better. my neck still hurts like crazy but they medicated me pretty good so not close to as bad as before. and i can turn it towards the left now which i couldn't do at all before, and basically hold it straight up again. i just feel so tired and out of it from all the medication though.

That's so strange!
The fading out, dizzyness and passing out used to happen to me a lot with anxiety attacks, pretty severe ones I guess... haha I remember one time being in Wasaga beach getting a henna tattoo and trying to get around the clerks desk because they wouldn't let me sit on the floor... an all of a sudden all my vision went and I was trying to feel my way there and the next thing I knew I was laying on the floor with my friend hammering me in the chest.
I'm not saying that's what you have because the neck pain thing is so odd, but it can be very scary having no control over yourself, especially when you don't know what is wrong.
I really hope this was only a one time occurance for you. Good luck and Take good care of yourself!

Sounds like you had a very bad migraine to me. My best friend use to get them all the time and she would throw up, lose her eyesight and everything. I don't know about the whole neck think, but maybe the pain was so bad it caused you to tense up. I'm not a medical expert or anything, but judging from past experience, this is what it sounds like to me. I hope you feel better!

migraine.
nausea
vomitting
visual impairment or disturbance, black spots, flashing lights, temporary blindness
typically one sided (but not always)
possible diarhhea
exhaustion
stiffness typically of the neck/shoulders may extend to limbs or down the back
difficulty in speaking.

I was on a "danger list" with my doctor from about 13 years old because of the severity and frequency of my migraines, tried numerous drugs none helped.
(6 times a year is classed as frequent - I was getting them 6+ times per month)
I outgrew them as suddenly as they started.
I rarely have them now - but I have had 2 in the past week.

i have had episodes like that as well since i was like 14 when i started menstruating. so i dunno if it is somethin to do with that, maybe u pinched a nerve and that on top of it idunno. id get up feeling really sick like i was gonna throw up and everything starts fading in and out and i get dizzy , break out in a cold sweat. i never went to the dr about it because it wasnt like consistently happening, i never actually passed out though just felt like i was gonna so id sit on the bathroom floor. end up dry heaving or puking. 30 min later i felt ok. but i know that feeling sucks. even worse when you got kids to worry about. i say as soon as u start feeling like that again call someone asap. are you home alone alot? someone told me something about something with the oxygen levels in the blood causing that. someone on yahoo said they get like that and thats what it is , im not 100% this was a lil while back when they told me this.

That's scary. Did they mention that it may have been a migraine? I only got 2 migraines in the past and my vision blurs and I don't feel right. I often wonder what would happen if I would have the baby alone one day and I'd pass out or worse and she'd just be crying until someone came or Jesse got home from work. That's scary. My parents know that if I don't answer the phone, Ava's sleeping. So, they wouldn't know to come check on me. I mentioned it to JEsse one day and he thinks I'm retarded. I hope you feel better.

thanks for the nice words girls. they didn't say much of anything. i don't think it was a migraine, because i've had those and it was nothing like that.
