Less physical activity and increased
caloric intake won’t provoke ovulation!
Ideally, you should have consulted with a
gynecologist 5 years ago when you first
noticed that you don’t have periods.
Women who use birth control pills should
experience monthly “periods”, although
itself ovulation is blocked. Provera is a
hormonal contraceptive. It is believed
that after coming off Provera, ovulation
can be established spontaneously. The
theory is that the hormones somehow wake
up the axis hypothalamus-pituitary
gland-ovaries. If this doesn’t help,
ovulation stimulators can be used
(clomiphene). Lack of ovulation can be due
to an ovarian, pituitary gland or
hypothalamus disorder. You can consult a
gynecological endocrinologist to follow up
and request necessary diagnostic tests.
Hormonal analyses (estrogen, progesterone,
FSH, LH, prolactin, thyroxin…) will be
probably requested.
