Instead Soft Cup Used For Conception
Posted: 04-11-07 12:09pm

Hi All,

I'm new here, but not new to the disappointment of trying to get pregnant and not having sucess. Anyway, My husband and I will be trying to get pregnant using the Instead soft cups sold at drug stores (normally used for periods). We plan to put his "seed" in the cup with some preseed lubricant (to increase volume and possible contact with my cervix). has anyone tried this and been successful...or unsucecessful? I know these cups are bigger than the conceivex brand thimble sized cups, btu these seem easter to "install" and don't cost 300 bucks for 3 cups. Please give me any experince you may have with using these for conception....PLEASE! Very
Happy

Lori

There was another thread on here recently about using the instead soft cups. SOmething was said about the material they are manufactured with can be harmful to sperm. I would search for that thread. I believe it was last week. I will look and repost if I find it.

Good luck, I know how frustrating and heartbreaking it is when you have problems ttc. We have been trying for what seems like forever.

It doesn't mean it won't work though. I just thought I would give you some info to consider.

I wonder if there is online info about the testing they said that was done that denied them from using them for conception........on the website it says "The INSTEAD® Softcup® is made entirely of hypoallergenic, non-toxic, non-irritating, non-absorbent materials that have been used for more than 20 years in the health care profession. The INSTEAD® Softcup® reservoir is made of Polyethylene. It is non-irritating, non absorbent thermoplastic material that has been used for more than twenty years in health care items such as catheters and baby bottle nipples."

I understand that there are chemicals in everything...I mean laytex can hurt sperm but people get pregnant all the time when a condom breaks...I wonder at what point something is actually "bad" for conception and what point it's not FDA approved for conception.
