5 Pregnancy Tests..... Help Plz
Posted: 02-18-04 00:31am

Hi, my girlfriend has not missed her period for the last two months now, her breasts are swollen, she always feel sick, and is tired quite often. We have taken 5 pregnancy tests so far, and the first three were negative, the fourth was some sort of error, and the fifth was negative also. I am wondering, can this many tests be wrong? We were going to planned parenthood this morning, but they were under-employed so they could not do pregnancy testing... Can we be pregnant but get 5 negatives?

Well lets see if she has not missed her periods and she is regular, then she may not be pregnant, I know that sometime most people want to be pregnant or fear that they are and soon the symptoms kick in most of the time the symptoms are physiological (they are nonexistent). But not all urination tests are right, some women can go the whole nine moths and it's obvious they are and still get negative urine test. If you girlfriend ends up missing a couple of periods and the pee test come back negative you may want to look into a blood test.

Have you tried different brands? And are you testing with the first bathroom visit in the morning?

If you have 5 negatives though I would get in to talk to a doctor... Especially missing two periods.

Good luck!

If she is taking the test in the early a.M this could be why they are showing up negative. I took a test at about 10am and it showed up negative, the same day around 12:30 I took another and it showed up positive. I am now in my third trimester. Try the ept brand. If it showes up negative again she should defanently see a doctor about no period for two months. For whatever it is you want, good luck.

Ok... So we went to see the doc.. He gave her a "very sensitive" urine test, and it came back neg, so he sent us down to the lab for a blood test which I hear is a difinitive... So... Some time in the afternoon we will find out. Her diet has changed immensely, and I feel that is what is affecting her... She went from eating normal, to not eating at all, really. Her diet has been really inconsistant and has went through some stress moving out.. The doc said she could maybe miss a period or two because of her eating habits and stress... So, either way~

Stress along with major diet & life changes can cause you to stop having periods until she settles down & starts living & eating normally again & this can take some time (especially for her hormones to "kick" back in) but still take precautions if you don't want a baby.
