Sex abuse: I don't like to be touched
Posted: 04-12-07 08:37am

I have PTSD, OCD, Anxiety, and depression. For the past 6 years I have been in therapy to irradicate the difficult effects left behind by childhood sex abuse by a close relative.
I have a very difficult time in the bedroom. I just don't like to be touched. I have a male pychologist, whom I like very much, but I just don't feel that comfortable talking about sex with him! Do you have any suggestions on how I can alleviate some of the symptoms that having sex brings to me?

Sexual abuse by close relative during the childhood can cause very bad consequences to a person’s psycho-emotional life, especially in terms of sexual relationships.Thoughts about sex can bring you to the past when you were hurt. Sex can become associated to pain. One way you can overcome this fear is to struggle with it and look at the past directly. Open discussions about sex with your psychologist might be very stressful for you. In this case, you might consider either facing your discomfort or looking for another psychologist/guide.
