This pain usually only happens when I take
a shower. I think it's triggered by
lifting my arm to adjust the showerhead.
It also sometimes re-occurs after I take a
shower. Has anyone heard of lower back
pain that occurs when lifting your arm?
Also, I did injure my back years ago in a
car accident. It sometimes hurts all over
after physical activity. I believe this
has gotten better after physical therapy
and chiro visits recently. Should I avoid
a job that would require me to do
physically demanding work just because of
back pain? I am trying to get a job as a
zookeeper.
thanks.

I would definitely tread with caution in a
job that is physically demanding. You
should probably consult a doctor to clear
you for a job like that. You don't want to
further injure yourself.

The physical therapist thought I could do
it but recommended weight training. What
kind of doctor would need to clear me?

Your regular doctor should be able to tell
you if you would cause harm yourself. If
you have seen a specialist for your
concerns they would be best.
