I Am Here!

Warning: this thread has a lot of chatter....

I am here in Boise, ID. We made the move and let me tell you...it sucked!!
I have moved so much but for some reason this move was the worst. The drive here was not fun, either. It wasn't that far but full of exciting events.

My husband rented a moving truck which broke down. That was a horrible situation. Luckily it broke down in a populated area near a 24 hour center. They came out and fixed the truck. We were driving separately. Then we stopped for lunch and gas in some small town in Oregon. I put my debit card in my pocket and then went to the bathroom. The card fell out out of my pocket at the gas station, and I literally noticed five minutes later. I asked the manager if anyone had turned in my card. She told me yes but she had just shredded my debit card. I was only gone for five minutes!! Now I have no source of money but a credit card.....grrr. I was just so ticked off. She said, "It's to protect you!" I told her that she could have at least waited for an hour to see if the card holder comes back. My goodness. I would surely be screwed if I didn't have my husbands debit card!! we can't get another card for a month and by that time we will have a new bank!!

We are so happy here. I really don't feel that bad about leaving family anymore! This lifestyle will be so much better for my immediate family! We are happy in our new house. When we moved in, however, some parts were so dirty I almost vomited. The property manager came by and cleaned those parts. He admitted they were a little on the gross side. Moving this time around with our child was by far the hardest. He is extremely hyper now and can't stop for even a minute!!!

Our stuff is everywhere and I have no energy to unpack. This pregnancy is taking all of my energy. I don't want to get to comfortable anyways because this house is only temporary.

I already went to a doctors appt and I haven't gained any weight for two weeks. I think it's due to the stress. I am almost 26 weeks and my baby weighs approximately 1 pound, 7 ounces.

So that's life! We are here and alive!!!

Glad you made it safe and sound.

Too bad it had to be so challenging.

Well I'm glad to see you made there safe and sound. Any ideas to when/where you're moving, since this one is only temporary? I don't know how you do it, I absolutely hate moving!!!

Thanks for the support!!

The lady who shredded my card said that she never heard of my bank so she shredded it. Along with that being their policy. If my card was a local bank, she probably would have held onto it. I am not a normally violent person but I actually hit the counter really hard when she told me that she shredded it. If she were any closer, I probably would have clocked her one. My pregnancy hormones were in full force. Really, what she did was a complete impulsive response. Most other places would have put it in a safe for at least until the end of the day.

We want to buy a house now for stability. This lack of stability just stinks and is not healthy for our child. He has already been through enough of an inconsistent lifestyle to last a lifetime - just not healthy for him. I need to be offered a job first. Since I work for a school district, I just need a contract in my hand. I just have to convince someone to hire me and let me start a month late due to maternity leave. I really am hoping for a part time position somewhere. I would just die doing my job full time and having two kids. My job is about a 10 hour a day job. Doing that five days a week would not be fair to the kids. It really has taken a toll on my little three year old!!

Welcome to Boise!! I left you a PM as well but I just read what a horrble move that you had to endure on your way here. That is horrible that that lady had done that to your card. Though she said it was her policy to do so I would have still reported it because that is a ridiculous policy and for her to do that to someone who is from out of state for one and to say that they didn't recognize the bank well DUH!!!

Anyways I am glad you are here safe and I can't wait to get the boys together to play they will just love eachothers company. Take it easy don't try to do to much. If you need any help with anything just let me know.

Talk to you soon,

Heather
