Marriage Portals: Do They Work?

Has anyone made any experience with online dating sites?

I like the idea of finding someone online, but am not sure if I should invest time and hope into this option.

Any comments are appreciated, thanks!

Alex

alex.
I would say most of the online dating sites are good. Just be safe that you do not give out to much information to the people you communacte with.(address, phone number ect) And if you should ever decide to meet any of them. make sure you meet them in a public place and let friends and family members know of you intentions. There are a lot of people just like you in these sites. And just like everywhere, there are people that can not be trusted..
Good Luck. Keep me posted on how it goes.

I met my boyfriend online and we have been together for over a year now. I did not meet him on a site disigned for dating. He contacted me after seeing my profile on myspace.com, and we exchanged messages before meeting. We met at a public place for coffee and ended up just siiting in the cafe for 2+ hours, we have been together since.
I have heard a lot of other sucess stories of meeting online, but do be cautious. Good Luck Smile

I met my boyfriend through an online dating site.
Hes amazing!! : ) We are getting married soon!! : D
I did meet a lot of jerks and weird people first, you
just have to be VERY patient and VERY cautious.
But, in my case it was well worth the wait and effort. : )

I met my fiance at yahoo personals. Like the previous poster said before him I had several bf's all through i met online. The internet is nothing but to allow you to met people who are looking for relationship in a easier way. Instead of you going to a bar and wait on fate that someone will appear to talk to you with the internet you can take a look at the people who are looking for a relationship in the comfort of your own house and contact them if you like them. So you waste less time.

internet dating is not for you if you:

1. hate computers
2. are easily offended - means you may like the person that you meet but the person may not like you
3. if you really can't stand talking to someone you right off are not physically and mentally attracted to - This because like all blind dates when you meet someone you may not like him/her and you will have to drink the coffee or share the lunch with him/her.

If you are okay with this 3 items then I strongly suggest to try it. I enjoyed my internet dating days and oh well I'm getting married in october so it does work!

i met my boyfriend online when i was 12, i'm not 16 almost 17.

i flew to maine to see him and we met in person on my 16th birthday, and had our first kiss on the beach Smile

i agree with the above poster, do not get into online dating if you don't want to be behind the screen a lot lol

but go for it, just be careful!
