Being Tested For Leukemia And Liver Disease
Posted: 04-14-07 20:08pm

I am 29 years old and two weeks ago I had severe pain in my chest with indigestion. This went on for 4 days and two of those four I went to the ER. I had a Chest xray, labs, and EKG. My alkaline phosphatse was the only thing elevated in labs on first trip. Second ER trip, slightly elevated WBC and alkaline was higher. I was finally sent for an ultrasound and they saw enlarged abdominal lymph nodes. Then I was sent for a CT and they found lesions on my liver and a mass like area on lower lobe of left lung. Then...bare with me...I was sent for CT of lung two days later, and what they thought was a mass was pneumonia that was resolving. By this time I felt 100% better and went to the doctor on Monday with now an ear infection and UTI. She did labs and my white count was 21.0 and my alkaline was higher and now my ALT. They are doing a smear on my blood to see if I have leukemia. I no longer hurt, I feel fine, no fatigue or swollen lymph nodes anywhere else. I have read on the internet about liver disease and I don't drink, do drugs, or have sex, except with husband. Doc said it could be birth control, past pregnancy, or infection. What is the likleyhood of cancer at my age and considering I had pneumonia, ear infection and UTI when labs were done? Any advice would be fantastic. Thanks.
