Me and my husband have been trying for a month to get pregnant. In the next few days I will found out if we have been successful or not. I hope I am because we did the "baby making procedure" 12 times to have the best chance of getting pregnant. I found it hard work!!!!
Fingers crossed.
Also I am nearly 30 and wondering, what bearing this could have on my fertility?

Hi Chick1978!.......

DH and I are on our 2nd month of ttc. I've been reading alot of info and I decided to go alot more....um.. technical lol.
I am charting so that I can see a definate change in temperature before and after ovulation. In the first month I was also able to see that my luteal phase was too short for implantation to even occur. Personally, I found it really helpful to chart my temps.
I was on birth control pills for about 10 years. I was off of them for 2 years at one point though. So I never really knew what it was like to ovulate on my own or have anything other than a chemically-induced AF. So this has been really interesting for me so far. I also used O.P.Ks so I knew when I was about to .O
All the info I have read kept mentioning that most healthy couples can take up to a year, on average, to conceive. To me, that is too general.
In a book I just bought it was more age-specific. For my age-28 and dh-32 it said 5-6 month on average.(if everthing is timed right etc...)
The one piece of info that never changed was--- Even under perfect "conditions", .A.K.A .Lots-of-.B.Ding-couldn't-possibly-have-mi ssed-that-eggie (lol), there is only a 25% chance of conceiving each
cycle.
I'm not sure if any of that helped you ,but at the very least it makes those of us that are close to 30 aware of the fact that it just might take *alittle* more effort now, compared to when we were 20. Wink
Good luck!!

Well, I hope this is your month! I think that age plays a part. But a small one. 30 is young. I think it is 35 when they shorten the time to 6 mo instead of a year. But I could be wrong. I for one am 20. I have been on bc for 6 years and recently went off (2ish mo ago) I am still trying to regulate my periods and do not believe I have ovulated yet. (I am currently bleeding for the 5th time Rolling Eyes ) So 20 doesn't always mean alot! Laughing

I hope you will stick around and keep us posted!

Niki- how are you feeling?

I am also nearly 30 and have been in the mindset that I will never get the chance to be a mommy, but I have to snap out of it and realize that it just isn't my time yet. I did a lot to my body when I was younger **ohh those college days** and I wonder all the time if what I did had an effect on my fertility. DH and I have been trying for about 6 months but I have been told by my ob/gyn that we need to take a break and use condoms so that my pap can get back to normal. After that it's game on!!

Star,
I just read your post here and I must tell you that you cannot blame your past. This is coming from someone who did everything right, in order to be a healthy mommy some day and have a healthy baby, so we can be a happy familly. Rolling Eyes

Well, the reality is something completly different and that did not quite happen. after each of my m/c's, I wrecked my brain to figure out what I did wrong. I have been taking pre natal vitamins for two years, and stopped drinking that occasional glass of wine even. So, please do not blame yourself. I know people who still live a fast and furious lifestyle, yet keep having babies. I guess there is a reason why we are all going through this. Don't give up girl, like someone else said just take this time to do all the things to get yourself even more prepared to have a healthy pregnancy sooner than later. Smile

It is the day that I should be on my period.....
I have had a tiny spotting, very tiny, and I think that I mayhave my period after all.

I'm just thinking of all the hardwork that I will have to do again, if I am not pregnant!

Keep the faith chick... They say not to count spotting as your full on period. You are supposed to wait until you have normal flow.

If it is af then you can chalk this month to a good try and you will be that much more educated and closer to when you do actually conceive.

Dont give up hope!!!

Hi everyone I was on the pill last month and didnt take any this month. My last cycle was March 30th. we "did it" the about 6 times between my last cycle and today. I've been having pregnant symptoms nausea, smelling things that's not around me at all!, boobs gotten bigger, nipples sensitive and sore, little bumps around areola, cramping, bloated, liittle dishcharge, heartburn, constantly going to the potty, and I stay sleepy, I even fall asleep at work! They wake me up though and tell me that I'm pregnant!! I hope I am. I'm supposed to expect my cycle the 27th or so. I haven't spotted at all I really hope I am. Please help me and give me some advice.

I would give it a day or two, and if your spotting doesn't increase to full bleeding, take a test. I want to say that mg had some spotting and got a positive.
