Hi, I want to share my story with you ...
and ask a question (see below)
I got gout at 34 and was stunned with the
severity of a sheer attack. My doctor
prescribed anti-inflammatory medicine to
me and I was taking it when I had an
attack. It somewhat worked when I could
catch a symptom early. I had a few attacks
and then I had a break. I changed my diet.
I used to buy cherries. But in a while I
started hating them. Besides it was rather
expensive to get cherries every day. In a
couple of years or so my gout came back
and I started having attacks more often.
Gout started affecting my hand as well as
toes. I was changing the diet again but it
did not work as well as it did before. My
doctor recommended me taking allopurinol
but I was still resisting...
Now my story comes to an interesting
phase. My partner gives some vitamins to
kids. One of them was fish oil. I saw a
sign on a can that it may temporarily help
with arthritis. I tied a capsule when I
felt yet another attack was coming. Guess
what... next morning my pain disappeared.
The fish oil worked for me much better
than my double anti-inflammatory tablets.
No kidding. I took a notice and started
taking fish oil one capsule a day.
Sometimes I forget and miss it. But you
can believe me or not but my gout left me
for good I hope. A year ago my gout was
coming to me when I had a couple of
glasses of wine or beer. Now my diet is
almost back to normal and I now enjoy
going out again. I still watch my food
though but I feel no discomfort at all.
Fish oil did magic trick to me. I told to
my doctor about the fish oil and he did
not mind me taking it. My doctor actually
told that it may sometimes help with
arthritis.
I don't know for how long my break will
last. I want to take my blood sample to
check my uric acid... I write this story
because just over a year ago I was
browsing Internet desperately trying to
get something which works. I never saw
fish oil as a recommendation.
Did anybody else come across fish oil and
anything like my story before ?
And finally if you want to try fish oil do
check with your doctor before trying it
....
