Oh No. Should I Be Scared?
Posted: 04-15-07 16:43pm

i posted this in the birth control forum but no one has answered, i really need an answer asap! =(

I have been on birth control for a loong time now. And I have to admit I dont take it at the same time on the weekends as I do during the week. Usually its about 2 or 3 hours later. Anyways, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex last night and he went inside of me. According to the research I have done, I should be ovulating in about 2 days. Should I be worried about pregnancy?

the insert that comes with my pill says i should take it every day at the same time or at least within 4 hours of my usual time.

since no birth control is 100% you might want to consider doubling up and using condoms as well.

you're probably fine but you can test to ease your mind when your period is due.

good luck!

You don't ovulate at the normal point of your cycle when you are on the pill. When you are not on the pill you will ovulate 14 days before the first day of your period (usually), but when you are on the pill, ovulation is stopped and you're likely having anovulatory cycles.

So ya, I would always use back up, but I wouldn't panic.

yes, and stopping the pill creates a sudden change in hormone levels which causes ovulation, so missing a pill can very well end people up pregnant. Idea

I think the point to make is that you should not really be worried about pregnancy. A pill is not considered late until it is 6 hours away from your normal size.
