Hospital Treatment?
Posted: 04-15-07 20:50pm

Am I really that thin?

I'm 18.
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 80 lbs
BMI: 14.9
Body fat %: 13

I've been told i am anorexic by doctors... but is this severe enough to be hospitalized and to be put on tube-feeding?

The bmi would suggest that you are underweight.
But, I have heard that the BMI is outdated, so I don't know.

Well, anorexia suggests more than just low bmi or weight.
But you are very underweight and that can lead to the hospital, yes.

Yes, you are really, really, really, truly, matter of factly too thin. Please, realize that most people weigh 80 lbs when they are a child. You are a woman. I know it is hard to accept, but please accept that your body is womanly now and needs a little more weight. I hope so much that you don't have to be hospitalized. I can't imagine anything more terrifying. Good luck, and let us know how if turns out.

Yes! Please get treatment ASAP! Good luck! You are in a very critical place. Your situation is quite serious.
