if you're just using standard emulsion (do
you call it flat paint?) then so long as
the room is well ventilated you should be
OK unless you know you are sensitive to
paint anyway.
if you feel lightheaded or ill in anyway -
stop!

My doctor told me it was perfectly safe
and paint away. Make sure the room is
well ventilated and take a break every so
often. Just stay away from oil based
paints and primers. And of course, don't
use turpentine, paint thinners or any
other harsh chemicals.

If the primer can says "non-toxic" on it,
you should be just fine. It doesn't sound
like you were around it very long, and
since you took frequent breaks, I would
say you have nothing to worry about.

My husband and i painted our children's
room while i was 7 1/2 months pregnant.
Make sure it's well ventilated. Also, make
sure you have a chair near by and an extra
pair of hands for a nice massage
afterwards. It's a killer on the back!
