How to Diagnose upper right abdominal pain: gallstones?
Posted: 04-16-07 18:11pm

I have been having abdominal pains in the upper right side for the past two evenings. It seems to start in the late afternoon and as the ngiht goes on the pain gets worse. When i wake up in the morning the pain is gone, but returns later on in the afternoon. It gets to a point where I can't get comfortable standing, sitting or laying down. I don't have a fever, my stomach feels a little queasy but I know that I am not going to vomit. Any Ideas?

It is hard to say what might be causing right upper abdominal pain is without requesting additional diagnostic procedures. To be precise, you'll need an abdominal ultrasound and some blood analyses. You might also be experiencing gallstones but the conjecture has to be proven with an ultrasound. Kidney stones are usually accompanied with urination difficulties as well as severe pain.
