Does Anyone Measure Their Blood Sugar? Posted: 04-16-07 19:51pm
I found out just a few weeks ago that I
have hypoglycemia. During the GTT, my
blood sugar tested at 135 after having the
sugar drink and dropped to 55 just a half
hour later. My nutritionist gave me a
glucometer to test my blood sugar when I
feel like I'm having symptoms. So far,
every time I've tested, my blood sugar has
been fine. From what I've read, it takes 3
months of following the proper diet for
symptoms to go away, and for some,
symptoms get worse at the begining of the
new diet (which seems to be happening to
me). I am about two weeks into the new
diet and am confused about why some of my
symptoms (mainly irritability, depression,
fatigue, and the shakes) are sometimes at
their worst, but at those times, my blood
sugar tests fine (80-100). Is it possible
to still have hypoglycemia symptoms with a
normal blood sugar level, particularly
when first starting the diet?
Thanks,
Vin

Maybe its your body's way of getting
adjusted to the new diet esp if it is
different from the way you were eating
before.

They're right, first off the diet is a big
change. Second off, you're taking the
reading when you're experiencing symptoms,
which in fact happens after the
actual drop initially began.
