Hospital Bag Posted: 02-18-04 18:05pm
Okay I just thought we might all have some
good different ideas on what to put in a
bag to take to the hospital when you go in
for delivery. If you have found
something that worked well for you please
add it to the posting. I hope all new
and expecting mommies find it helpful!
1. Robe (nice for when you feel like
getting up cuz the back of the hosp. Gown
is open!)
2. Sugar free hard candies to suck on
during labor
3. Disposable cameras, extra film, video
recorder.
4. Powder or lotions (for getting
massages)
5. Snacks for the birthing coach
6. Heavy socks (incase feet get cold)
7. Personal toiletries such as
toothbrush, shampoo, brush. (some
hospitals have real nasty shampoo and dont
carry brushes)
8. Going home outfit for you (maternity
will be most comfortable)
9. Calling card
10. List of phone numbers (to call with
the news)
11. Watch with second hand (to time
contractions and such)
12. Magazines (you may get bored)
13. Pillow (may make you feel better with
your own pillow there)
14. Beast pads (incase you are leaking
when you leave hosp)
15. Sanitary napkins (you may not like
theirs...I hated them they were horrible)
16. Music (you may have a cd or cassette
player in room)
also bring a diaper bag packed for
baby!!!!

Ive never heard of that idea before! It'd
be so cute to have a t-shirt with a little
pink or blue set of footprints on! :d

I read this post and copied down your
advice. It got me so excited about baby
time!! I have to wait till july, aw man.
Well, I will have it ready at the
beggining of july, watch and see, lol.
Don't want to forget, anything. I cant
wait. I really just want to get the pain
over with and not feel so scared. All
this makes me feel better, and not real
worried about the pain. I especially
like the visitor part, lol
lots of love,
heather

Its not as bad as people make it. The
epidural helps alot! I highly reccomend
it. I know I had my bag packed like 3
months early. And I kept packing it and
repacking it. I was so excited. The
pain is here and gone so fast. The
excitement take over the pain. I
honestly would do it right this second if
I could. I find myself wishing I could
do it again even as bad as my delivery
was. I had alot of complications and
such, but yes it was painful, but I would
do it agian in the drop of a dime.
