Erectile Dysfunction
Posted: 04-17-07 13:24pm

I am becoming increasingly worried that i'm suffering from some sort of erection problem.
My penis is pretty healthy, i mean i keep it washed and i don't neglect it with dangerous physical activities or anything, but over the past few months i'd say it's got weaker in comparison to say a year ago. Me and my partner (Only sexual partner i've had) practice safe sex, and only try anything potentially harmful by taking the right amount of care required - such as anal sex.

While having sex, sometimes it loses the same stiffness as i have when initially aroused. Also with oral sex, or even when my girlfriend uses her hand, it becomes only semi-turgid at times - although when i first start any act of sex, it's very rigid.

Also, after urinating, i use the same muscle that i use to stop mid-flow, to push out the remains of any urine still in my urethra. However - this method now seems to be limited in strength - almost the same way as my penis feels limited in strength during acts of sex.

I know that i may have to elaborate on exactly just what is happening to it, and in what situation, but i want any initial thoughts on what it could be. Just a few different opinions so that i can understand where i should look for more professional answers. Thanks!

By dangerous, i mean anything that could cause physical harm to the organs in that area. Fighting, sport, sexual activities done wrong or irresponsibly, or anything like that. I always take proper care not to neglect safety, and i'm not sure it's any of those.

how old r u? As I've gotten older I've noticed a decrease in rigidity too. Comes with age. I take saw palmetto in capsule form which is supposed to help blood flow. Seems to be working for me as I've noticed my erections are harder now within the last few months.

Ahh well is there a minimum age to be posting stuff like this?

I'm 17. I've been sexually active with the one and same partner i'm with now for just over 2 years. Very sexually active, so there's no excuse for lack of experience (Which is usually the reason i'm apprehensive about posting my age with topics around sex).

But either way, i'm guessing i'm not as old as you originally thought. I'm not particularly positive about taking medications, i was much hoping there would be some sort of excercise i can do to re-build any strength i may have lost. I'm also not prepared to pay for any of that information, as advertised all over the net, hence why i'm here. Haha.

Thanks for your comment, but i would further appreciate any alternative suggestions you have? Based on the new circumstances of my quite young age (In comparison)

hiya. some advice that has been given to my bf both from a doctor and a sex therapist - kegels!! lots and lots of them. they should make your erection stronger.

if you arent familiar with kegels, what they basically are is pelvic floor exercises. imagine you are peeing; you know the muscles you tighten to stop the flow of urine? those are your pelvic floor muscles. you can strengthen them simply by tensing and releasing them. squeeze, hold, relax. squeeze, hold, relax. do maybe ten in the morning, ten in the afternoon, ten at night... more if you like. whenever you remember to do them. you can do them just while sitting watching telly. you can do them right now.

dont do them while actually peeing though, cos it's not good to stop the flow of urine, apparently.

after even just a few weeks, i'm sure you will notice a difference. women do them too to keep their vagina toned.

well try this anyway. if you still find you are having difficulties then maybe you should try the doctor, but you are still very young so it's unlikely there is an underlying problem. let us know how you get on anyway.
