I Have a Leaky...

...boob!! I am only 22 weeks pregnant. Is it normal to start leaking so soon? There has been a little bit of blood in the discharge, is that something I should be worried about? My next doctors appointment isn't until next week, but this is definitely something I'll be asking about. I just thought I would get some of your experiences and opinions first.

Hmm... I don't know if the blood is normal, but i know some women can leak colostrom while pregnant. I would definitely ask your doctor about it though.

i didnt start leaking until like 25 or 27 weeks or something like that i think

i know some people who started leaking right away though, so its not unusual

but if it were me i would call the doc and just ask about the blood, that doesnt sound good to me, it may be normal but i think it would scare me a little

i think its common both ways, i know a lot of people who have, and i know a lot of people who dont, sometimes it doesnt start until after you have the baby, it all depends on your body

I didn't leak at all with my pregnancy. I didn't leak until a few days later. Don't worry if you're not leaking, actually be thankful that you don't have to mess with it yet!!

As for the blood, ask your dr!

I started leaking at 24 weeks. It's normal.

The blood, though, isn't. Are you trying to force the fluid out? If so, too much aggravation could cause the nipple itself to bleed. and you're confusing it for blood in the fluid.

Just a thought!

Thanks for all of your responses. I will definitely talk to my doc about the blood. No, I haven't been trying to force anything out. I just noticed that there was a little bit of dried blood on my nipple. It wasn't a lot, but enough to be noticeable.
