I have had two large cysts in my lifetime. (that I know of) Both times I thought I was pregnant because I had stopped my cycle and tested *many* times. I finally went to the doctor because I didn't know what was going on and was not pregnant. Moral of the story...as far as I know, cysts don't cause positive results.

Well, the test was even lighter than it was before. If I don't have any more bleeding within the next week I think I will go get a blood test.

Well, I think I am just going to count myself out now. I don't know how I keep getting these tests that give me extremely faint positives and then nothing when I retest. DH and I decided that the spotting is going to count as my period and we will just expect it to come again this month. No more testing early. No more obsessing. No more temping. At least for a few months anyways. I need some time off from all of this. I will still be around here though to update you on everything. I am just going to keep waiting for af to show and if she doesn't I will test when I am at the earliest three days late. Love you girls!

I have never been in your situation so forgive me for saying because I imagine it is so hard, but you should really try to put it in the back of your mind and go with the flow of things. Testing early can be so devistating. I did do the testing early once when we were trying with my first son. The line came out really faint but I was going to take it as a positive no matter what and told everyone that I was. How disappointing it was to have to retract that and tell everyone that I was not pregnant.

The time will come and if you put it in the back of your mind it will be when you at least expect it.

Just a short story. I work for a daycare, parents to an infant daughter in which they adopted her from birth after 7 years of trying on their own to have one. They went through several tests, surgerys, and medications to try to conceive with no out come. So they went ahead and placed their name on a waiting list for adoption and a year later they were given their little girl. 4 years later the mother, who had abnormal periods and it would be normal for her to go a few months without one, started to show a bit of a belly and became concerned. She found out she was about 3-4 months pregnant. Why so long? She was under the impression that she would never be able to have kids so she ignored the symptoms. So now she has 2 beautiful girls, one adopted and one of their own and let me tell you, you would never know they were not blood sisters. They both have naturally curly, blond hair, blue eyes and many other features that make them look alike.

We call that a miracle story and I believe that it happens. With that I believe your time will come as well.

The same thing happened to my aunt and uncle. They tried for several years and decided to adopt. Well right after they got him, she found out she was pregnant. Go figure.

MG- sorry I have missed all your news!!! I was away on our anniversary weekend. I'm sorry you are having such a hard time right now. It would be so nice to have a definite answer. I will keep you in my prayers and good luck to you. Watch, you will get the positive as soon as you stop "trying"

I'm sorry, you must be so frustrated...talk about mixed signals! Confused

Are you still going to be going to your doctor for a blood test this week?

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking it easy for a few months. You have been through alot emotionally. You need some time to refocus on everything else. Sometimes, ttc can take over you life, especially with the last few months you have had.

I think I am just going to wait until my next period is due and then if it doesn't come I will go for a blood test then. I just feel so stupid. This isn't the first time I got a false positive. I got one back in november when I was a week late. That's when I started doing research and there are certain types of cysts that cause the release of small amounts of hcg giving false positive pregnancy tests. My ob said that it's very rare but it can happen. I think I really need this break so we shall see what happens.

I wish you the best of luck. Keep bd'ing and having fun and enjoying your time with your dh. Hopefully that will either get you pregnant or put you in the right frame of mind for perseverance.

Oh, BTW Heather, I wasn't testing early. My period was due last Tuesday but I did nothing but spot. I didn't really have a period. Well, that lasted for a day and a half. I am just putting it in the back of my mind. It will happen when it happens.
