after you stop using depo? i am really worried becausei have been exoeriencing irregular periods. i mean they come on every other week. i have been off the shot for about two months. my doctor wouldnt let me leave without any birth cntrol, but i never used what i told her i would. is this normal and how long will this last? i am going crazy.

After stopping depo, you could have bleeding problems for 3-6 months, and it is fairly normal and expected.

IF you started BC pills, it would have most likely prevented this.

You could still become pregnant, so do not assume that this pattern of bleeding means you cannot =)

Irregular bleeding is very common when stopping Depo. Some women don't bleed at all for a few months, then start up normal again like nothing happened. Other women spot for months. Some bleed for weeks. It's all common and normal for getting off Depo.

Your ob-gyn should have explained that to you. Don't be afraid to ask questions, or even to switch ob-gyns if you feel like yours does not explain things or is too pushy. A lot of them don't seem to explain anything, but there are some out there who do.
