As you all know i've had pretty bad back pain for the past 12 weeks but in the past couple of days it's got alot worse. I was doing physio but i can't do the exercises anymore at this stage because it could do more harm then good etc. I really don't want to leave school now, we've only got 4 more weeks untill exams start so i want to stay until then because it sems a bit pointless leaving a couple of weeks before everyone else yanno? Anyway enough of me rambling does anyone have any ideas of how to soothe my back? Like sleeping positions etc, i was sleeping with a hot water bottle under me but it's way too hot to do that now!
Thank you guys Danni xx

Do you have one of those pregnancy pillows? The one's that wrap all around you. I have heard good things about those.

Is there an osteopathic physician where you live? That is what helped me through my pregnancy. It is similar to chiropractic treatment, but much gentler. also D.O.'s are medical doctors, so if there are underlying problems they can address those too. I also did a lot of prenatal yoga.

No, my midwife tried to get me to one when my back pain started but the closest one to me is 50 miles away. I'm longing for a normal sleep again!

Laughing That is a good question. Laughing I know they have them on ebay. So you might want to check that out. I will talk to my friends and see if I can find some additional web sites for it.

This is probably a stupid question. But I'm gonna ask it anyway. Are you consipated? Constipation can cause back pain.

cant really help you with the back pain, i still dont know how to fix that, i figure after shes born it should go away right lol

i just wanted to say, i feel you on the school thing, if i make it until 2 weeks after my due date im still gonna miss like a week of school at the end, so no matter what im missing exams, im not leaving before shes born though unless my doc tells me to, i dont think it really matters too much, i sit at school most of the time anyway, its just a little extra stress thats all, but i know how you feel

Being at school during pregnancy sucks, but it has to be done hey. I'm just hoping .Mika doesn't decide to come early because my last exam is 4 days before i'm due Shocked and to add irony to it, it's my child care and development exam Laughing

is there no way you can retake the exams if you miss them? mitagating circumstances?
or you could re-take your gcses at college....

i have sciatica and it is agony so i sympathise with the back pain. all i've been giving is ibuprofen (which obv you can;t take)

my best advice- try a hot water bottle! it relieves my pain sometimes. Very Happy

Danni, ask your midwife about hiring a tens machine to get you through your exams.

it's drug free pain relief and supposed to be the proverbial dogs boll*x Laughing
people love it so much they buy their own.

You should (I believe be able to have the nhs provide one for you).

I have one for my neck. I couldn't live without it. I wasn't sure it was safe during pregnancy, but if it is you should definitely get one!

Im in school and sitting in those chairs for hours on end kills me!!
I went to the chiropracter and got adjusted and it did nothing!!
she told me it was my rib cage moving making room for brianna.. you know whats helped me is icy hot stuff that my mom has (its an all natural kind) its the only way i can fall asleep at night..also bring a pillow to school.. i have about 4 weeks left too and i totally know what you mean about not knowing if you can make it!!
