Yeah, sorry for the stupid question.
Anyways, have you called .Gabe's
pediatrician yet? They may be able to tell
you what to watch for. I'm not sure how it
presents itself in newborns.

I heard that information from our son's
former pediatrician as well. I personally
just can't believe it.

I looked it up and this was the tipical
answer i got under the search groups....
Strep
throat is caused by the bacteria called
Group A beta hemolytic streptococci. All
children may get strep throat although
babies are felt to be at a very low risk.
Typically, but certainly not always, the
child gets a fever and sore throat with
large tonsils that typically have pus on
them. Some children will only have
symptoms consisting of headache or stomach
ache. Some children develop a rash about
the body which is red and has fine bumps.
The skin appears sunburned and may look
like sandpaper. This rash usually appers
around 24 hours after the fever. When this
occurs, it is called scarlet fever.
While strep throat, itself, is not
dangerous, there are complications of this
infection which can cause significant
problems. These complications include
acute rheumatic fever which may cause
problems with heart and acute
glomerulonephritis which can cause
problems with the kidneys. The children
most at risk for these complications are
generally over two years of age.
Therefore, while babies may get strep
throat, they rarely if ever develop the
complications of this disease.
Treatment for this is with antibiotics
after confirming the diagnosis by testing
the throat. There are a lot of different
types of antibiotics that may be
used

Good for you...at least call your baby's
pedi and see what she/he says and go from
there. you have to consider the exposure
gabe has had to chris too....when my mom
told me that my sister had strep i called
right away....but then my doctor has a 24
hour facility.
your a great mother love....

I hope yall are ok! My friend just had
strep and I didn't let her anywhere near
us.
Of course, the days before, when we had no
idea, we couldn't control. But I spazzed
out when she found out! lol!
Just wash your hands and no close
contact!

I just got over strep throat myself and
.Noah did not get it from me. I was
.V.E.R.Y careful with washing my hands a
lot and everything but .I'm around him all
day, everyday so .I'm sure my
breastfeeding played a huge part in him
not getting sick. Is he still getting
breastmilk? I think the last .I remember
you were pumping? (sorry, .I can't keep
up with everyone anymore. lol.)

I'm hoping it'll be alright, because
.chris is around him a whole lot less than
i am.. we only see .chris a few days a
week for just a little bit.. & .since
me & .chris were broken up the past
few weeks.. i haven't been kissing him or
being in really close contact. hopefully
we'll be alright!
& .no, he's not getting my milk
anymore. my production pretty much just
stopped. but at least he got my milk
exclusively for like 3 weeks!

I heard that it's good to put neosporin in
your nostrils if you have strep and
everyone who lives in the household. It
kills the bacteria.
