Symptoms In My Head Or....?
Posted: 04-19-07 03:54am

im sixteen and have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend who is twenty three for about a month. He has ejaculated inside me numerous times. I am quite sure that my nipples have darkened, although Im not completely sure. When i pee, I really have to pee and cant hold it. That is not normal for me. Today I noticed my breats are slightly sore and I have had slight cramps for the last three days. Also backaches. I find it strange that a few of my relatives have asked me if im pregnant in the last two weeks. I didnt think I had gained weight so I dont know why they would ask that?
My last boyfriend ejaculated in my every time we had sex for about four months and I never got pregnant. But he was sixteen. So i am wondering is my new boyfriends sperm more sterile because he is older?
and do you think I am suffering from pregnancy symptoms or could it just be in my head?

Thier age should have no bearing on you becoming pregnant. There are many 16 year old fathers out there. You simply got lucky in not becoming pregnant with your previous boyfriend.

Are you trying to become pregnant? It sounds as though you are. You have had unprotected sex numerous times. Of course you could be pregnant.

You should also have yourself and your partner tested for std's. Because if you are having unprotected sex you are not only at risk for pregnancy but for std's as well. And having an std could effect your future fertility if you are not responsible in handling things.

You should post this in the Am I Pregnant forum. You will probably get more responces.

Good luck. Keep us posted!

I agree with mc4. Of course you could be pregnant, that's where babies come from after all. You're doing exactly what you need to do to become pregnant.

The father's age should not make a difference.

You need to see an ob-gyn right away. Girls are supposed to see one once they become sexually active anyway, but it's even more important to see one if you are pregnant. If you are not pregnant and don't want to get pregnant, then the ob-gyn would be able to give you some sex ed. and some birth control.

Pregnancy symptoms are the same as a lot of other things, so you can't go by symptoms alone. You'll need to take a home pregnancy test or have the ob-gyn give you a test.

thanks for your reply guys.
i am aware that i could be pregnant and im aware of the forms of contraception, i was just wondering if any one thinks i am actually pregnant.
no, im not purposely trying to concieve. I am just being careless. And no, neither I nor my boyfriend have a sexually transmitted disease, im sure of that.
since i posted, i have noticed other possible symptoms.
my nipples definately have darkened + stand out a lot more and are a whitish colour at the very tip. also my areolas have changed from pale pink to a pinkish-tan colour.
im hungrier more often and filling up more easily.
please reply.

Do you have regular cycles? If so, when is your period due?

Take a pregnancy test and get some birth control. Like I said, symptoms of pregnancy are the same as a lot of other things, even an oncoming period. So we can't tell you or anyone else for sure if you're pregnant or not. All we can say is that it is very possible. It is possible every single time you have sex, but obviously, not using protection at all is going to increase your chances. Everyone is different though. Some couples try for years without getting pregnant. So it's very possible, but not a certainty. We can't tell you much more than that unless you want information on birth control, ob-gyns, prenatal care, or anything like that.

You could be pregnant.

If you were pregnant would you keep the baby?

yeah i understand that completely.
ive done two home pregnancy tests; both negative.
you know, obviously judgemental people would look down on me if i did choose to have a baby so young.
but i dont feel, look or act sixteen.
and i can think of nothing more wonderful then bringing a little creation of my own into this world.
i have younger sibblings and im very good with them.
so if i am pregnant, i will have to a very big and serious think about my options..

and my period is irregular, so i cany rely on that to tell me.
my boyfriend wants to take me to the doctor after my temporary visit to Sydney which willl be at least a week away.
and then i have to order a medicare card, which will take even longer.
i dont trust pregnancy tests as ive heard too many stories.
so in the meantime, id really find comfort in hearing your opinions.
thanks heaps <3

A lot of people do have a couple of negative tests before they finally show up positive, so you're right to not want to trust those negatives just yet. Going to the doctor sounds like a good idea. Like I said, you should get looked at anyway to either get birth control or prenatal care, tips, and information.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've had unprotected sex and ejaculated inside and everything and so far nobody's gotten pregnant. My current girlfriend is 17 and we've been having unprotected sex for 3 months and she hasn't gotten pregnant yet. So don't worry about it and just enjoy yourself Wink The chances of actually getting pregnant are actually slim, since there's a bunch of factors that influence that (like where you are in your cycle).

Wow dude, I think you need to go back to sex ed or something. That has got to be the worst advise to give someone.

You can get pregnant ANY time during a cycle. Go ahead and keep having unprotected sex and get your 17 year old girlfriend pregnant and then see where your life goes.
