I've Been On the Nuva Ring 1 Month
Posted: 04-19-07 14:44pm

I first inserted the NuvaRing 22 days ago. I removed it the 21st day like my Dr. and the paperwork said to. I haven't started my period yet, but I'm not worried... the papers say it should start in 2-3 days.

As for side effects... I have been moody, but nothing I can't handle. I think it's just something I'm going to have to learn to deal with being on any type of birth control, since NuvaRing let's out a lower dose of hormones supposedly.

It's very convenient - I'm glad I don't have to take a pill every day. My husband can not feel the ring inside me when we have intercourse, which was surprising because he could feel it when he "fingered" me.

The one complaint I have now, 23 days in, is that I haven't stopped bleeding. I inserted it on the first day of my period, and had a normal cycle, but the bleeding then got light and I've had to change a liner every 3 hours for 2 weeks. Just called my doctor and she says it's normal, just like with the Pill. The light bleeding/spotting could last 2 months. I hope this helps some of you new users like me out there. Smile

What you are describing is normal for the ring. What day of the off-week are you on? With many forms of birth control, the period can be delayed, especially with spotting, and may not start until day 3 or 4 of the off-week.

When I was on the ring I had the same thing happen. Eventually my period got lighter and regular and it was wonderful.
