Am I Over-reacting? *edit April 22*

***This is the third forum site I have posted on, please I just want some opinions***

Quick background: I'm on the pill, my bf and I always use condoms--no exceptions, he always checks them when we're done, and I also have PCOS. My Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is known for making periods irregular, the pill usually can regulate that, and it's also the most common form of infertility in women.

My stress has been on/off for about two months, I haven't really changed my eating habits (that I can remember), and I have an aerobics class twice a week.

I've been on the pill since June '06.
Last month I had my normal brown spotting, *but I also had about a teaspoon of actual blood which isn't normal for me.* This was exactly two weeks before my period. My period came on time, but a little lighter than usual.

My period (started yesterday) came on time as well, but also seems to be lighter. (Same lightness as last month) And I also had normal spotting before-hand. My cramps have also been on and off, but that's normal too.

I know some girls have been known to "still get their periods" but actually are pregnant.

I've also heard that if you have spotting it's a sign that you're not pregnant, because if you ARE pregnant and spotting it's a sign of a miscarriage.

Should I even be worried?

I wouldn't worry. It sounds like you're having a bit of breathrough bleeding, which is common while taking the pill. The pill + condoms + pcos (sorry to hear you have it Sad) all make me think you're not pregnant. But if you think you might be, you should take a test - more to clear your mind than anything. They sell reliable tests at the dollar store that work just as well as anything else! Or, since you're in college, you could walk into your school's clinic and request a test there.

Good luck!

Don't worry. The pill is meant to prevent pregnancy. If you are taking your pills and he is wearing a condom - your chances of pregnancy are in the negative area.

A good indicator that nothing is going on is that your period started exactly when it was supposed to. Having a 'period' while pregnant is not common. If everything is the same as last month, what makes you concerned for pregnancy?

The longer you take birth control pills, the lighter your period can become. Your clinic will tell you this too. Just ask.

Edit: Ok so I've been watching my period since I got it on Thursday and I noticed the more I freaked out the lighter it got, when I stopped freaking out it went back to normal. Since I'm most likely not pregnant, I think this period is most likely being influenced by my stress.

Thank you AyaMiyaki & Ingi I appreciate your help. Smile

I noticed more symptoms that I forgot to share, I have been nauseated & I very fatigued.
So I got a blood test done at my college today.

It came back Negative. The nurse told me it was probably just stress (there are two weeks left in this semester) but if it continued to go to my doctor. And I should change the BC I'm on since I'm always spotting.
