Another Month Without a Happy Face

Sad Sad Sad

I'm on cd 16 and I haven't had a positive opk. I had good cm for the last week but it dried up today. I also had a temp increase today, but like last month, it was a small increase.

My doctor said that she doesn't know why I have problems with opk. She said that not getting a positive opk but seeing a temp increase has to be very frustrating. She did give me the referral to a specialist and told me to try to be patient. She said that I should let my anxiety dictate when I to schedule an appointment.

My anxiety level is pretty high right now since I've got all this uncertainty about whether I ovulated. My general stress level is lower this month and my cm was very consistent for the last week. Plus, my diet and exercise are back on track. I think I'll wait a few days to see if my temp increase stays. If not, I'll make my specialist appointment. Otherwise, I'll wait to see if I get af.

One thing is for sure... I am using up all of my clear blue easy digital tests and I'm never buying them again.

I'm sorry to hear that. That must be *so* frustrating!

Have they done any blood tests to check your hormone levels or do you have to wait for the specialist to do that?

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time shorty! I hope you and I both find out what's going on with our bodies soon so we can have a baby.

It must be so frustrating not knowing if you are realling ovulating. I sometimes have trouble knowing for sure if I am o'ing. Sometimes the line never gets darker than the test line and I never know for sure. This month, I had 2 days of a slightly positive opk ( they both were never significantly darker than the test. almost the same color) so who is to say that I really o'ed??? It is hard for me to tell as well, so I feel your frustration... to bad it doesn't matter for me right now.

Sending you tons and tons of baby dust!!!!!!!

Hang in there... you are in my prayers!

Well, my temp is now well within my normal post-o level, so it looks like any other month now. I'll force myself to wait at least another week or so before calling the specialist.

mg - no kidding. If there is something I can do to increase our chances, I'd love to know about it. My doctor is a cheerleader type. She reminds me that normal people take a while to get pregnant. She also said that about half the couples she refers to the specialist get pregnant before their first appointment. She seems to be very sensitive to the anxiety of trying to get pregnant while trying as much as possible to be positive. In fact, when I was leaving, she said, "see you when your pregnant." How have you been doing?

mc - the hormone tests will come with the trip to the specialist. I read that the first test is a sperm test followed by a couple of tests on me. I wonder whether my hormone levels are out of whack. Not detecting an LH surge definitely points to a hormone problem, but I do have clear temp patterns throughout the month. The temps only really get erratic just before af and during af (or if I sleep in or don't sleep well).

star - well, I definitely wouldn't recommend the clear blue easy digital (cbed) for you either. On the other tests I used, I could only get a positive in the morning, never later in the day. I thought cbed would be better since it says it can be used at any time of the day. I read and reread the instructions several times to make sure I was doing it correctly, too. I guess I'll either be pregnant or wait find out at my next appointment.

vol - thanks for the support. How are your and your little bean doing?

Princess - no kidding on the cost. I think I'll either have to cut out opk all together and just go by cm (maybe I'll try tracking my cervix position as well), or find a more reliable and cheaper opk. Are you using opk's?

When I get close to the end of the 2ww, I'll let you know. Here is my chart for now: http://www.fertility friend.com/home/17d324. I think I probably o'd one day earlier than ff says but it's close enough.
