Cholinergic Urticaria

Cholinergic urticaria is quite common. It is caused by sweating and is sometimes called heat bumps. The urticarial rash is quite distinct as the weals are very small (2-3 mm) with a red flare around each one. The rash appears within a few minutes of sweating and tends to be worst on the chest, back and arms. The rash lasts from 30 minutes to an hour or more before fading away. Some people become slightly wheezy and short of breath for the duration of the rash.

The sweating that triggers the rash may be due to exercise, heat, fever, emotion or eating spicy food. It can be a real nuisance when trying to exercise. In severe cases, hundreds of tiny weals develop when you run or do other types of exercise. Sometimes the tiny weals join together to form larger ones. Cholinergic urticaria most commonly first develops in early adult life. In many cases the condition tends to improve after a few years and it goes or becomes less severe.

If anyone has what is explained at the top, It could be helped: I heard this guy who had Cholinergic urticaria ran mornings and evenings for 6 months, he just ignored the pain and rash and kept running, eliminating his CU completely. I think this may be a cure because I ran for about 3 miles ignoring the pain of the rash. Just a little while later, while running, it went away and I was able to do all the things that would normally bring the rash out, but it never came not even a tickle. This piece of heaven lasted about a week. I really do believe this can eliminate CU. With help from God and prayer I think we can do it. Any questions e-mail me at- murfsup 100@yahoo.com or reply to my message. Hopefully we can help each other.

I've just been diagnosed with CU as well. Its a real nuisance and if feels as if my life is now very limited. I noticed this with exercise as well. I will exercise more frequently next week once my exams are over and will post to let everyone know. I'm 5'9" and 135lbs and eat moderately healthy but recently alot more processed foods. I used to exercise often but stopped a couple years ago because of school. The only good from CU is forcing me to exercise (many others posted it helps) and begin eating healthier (no more junk and instant food, more fruits and veggies now).

Wishing you all relief, Nick
