Chemical Pregnancy?
Posted: 04-22-07 05:30am

LMP 2/28, got positive pregnancy test 4/6, on confirmation appt w/ doc on 4/17 test was negative (I was shocked), blood test also showed same as well as ultrasound in office showed nothing at all.

Doc said either got false positive result (which I know I didn't because all other pg symptoms were there, same as I had in first full term pregnancy)....or it was a chemical pregnancy. hcg now below 2 but period still hasnt come. I have doc appt for next week to start to determine why no AF yet but has anyone experienced this? did it take a while for AF to show up? how long? thanks!

Hi,
I did a preg test 2 weeks ago and it came up positive. Last week I went to doctors because something didnt feel right. The ultrasound showed what's called Gestational Trophoblastic Disease. Its where a gestational sac is present, but no featus is clearly seen. Im still waiting on results from the Hospital to come back. I had to terminate the pregnancy. They said it was not a viable one.

I had that happen to me back in november. I had not gotten a period in october and novmber. took like 5 tests in early december all came out positive. went to the doc twice and it came back negative. Then got af at mid decmber. Three weeks later, took two home tests, they camre bck positive, now I am 19 wks prego. Things are sometimes weird. They said mine was a chemical pregnancy maybe back in november. So good luck if u are trying.
