Not really. As soon as the final dose of
the anti-depressant leaves your body -
your body will then slowly start to adjust
back to its regular, non-AD influenced
state.
I heard cases of people gaining up to
30lbs EASILY within a short amount of
time, but as soon as they stopped the AD's
- their weight started going down as
well.
And the reason why many first line
anti-depressants (SSRI's) make people gain
weight is because they inhibit (and
increase) your levels of serotonin - a
brain chemical responsible for the
regulation of appetite, sleep, and well
being. When people feel good, they want to
eat more.

For me, anti depressants keep me from
gaining weight, and being obsessive about
food.
I do suffer from depression and OCD.. I am
treated, and have taken meds for 12 years,
I am now on celexa. I have taken lexapro,
but my ins gives an awesome deal on
celexa.
