Implantation Bleeding Or Early Period? Posted: 04-23-07 11:53am
I am 32 years old and have had a regular
period all my life except for once this
January when I was two weeks late (doctor
did bloodwork and check-up and said
nothing was wrong and my stressfull
December may have caused me to be late). I
was on the pill for about 5 years and have
been off it for almost 2 years now.
My cycle is about 37 days long. My last
cycle began March 26. My husband and I had
unprotected sex April 9 & 11. On April
13, my boobs were sore. I knew it was too
soon for it to be PMS, so I took a
pregnancy test. First show after 3 minutes
was negative, but when I came back in the
bathroom 15 minutes later there was a
faint pink line. I've taken 3 tests since
and they're all negative. I understand
it's too soon for the tests to work
accurately since I have not yet missed my
period.
On April 20, I started noticing slight
pink/brown blood like the start of my
period. I had this for two days. Yesterday
(April 22) it started getting red and
heavier, but not nearly as heavy as my
regular cycle would be. My period is not
due until May 2. I know I cannot get a
reliable reading on a pregnancy test until
then. How do I know if I'm having an
early, light period, or if I have
implantation bleeding? How heavy can
implantation bleeding be? What are
possible reasons for getting my period
more than a week early if this is what it
is?

it seems to me like your cycle may be a
bit messed up. you were late in january
and early this time. you may have
irregular periods which is very common.
are you try to get pregnant?

im in the same situation. im a week early
for my period and ive started bleeding.
ive read that implantation can in some
cases look like a normal flow but doesnt
last as long as a normal cycle and can be
mis-taken for a period. im trying to et
pregnant and ive had all the symptoms of
pregnancy so im waiting til next week til
the date im ment to come on and take a
home pregnancy teat and i think u should
do the same. waiting is a pain but it
makes scense. x
