So Now I Wait.....
Posted: 04-23-07 15:53pm

Well I have technically been waiting for a while now, but now I have to wait another 3 months.

I went to the doctor for the second treatment this past Monday and my last treatment is next Monday 4/30. I asked the doctor when I will be able to start ttc again and she said that I need to wait about 3 months after the last treatment and after that three months if I have a clean pap, then we can start ttc again. So I wait, and wait, and ohhh wait some more....

So I will not officially be ttc until the begining of August. My birthday is in August, so maybe that will be my lucky month and I will get a nice birthday present.

Oh and the treatment that the doctor said doesn't usually hurt....ummmmm wrong.... it hurts alright. I had the worst cramping afterwards and she said "that's strange, it doesn't affect most women" Well it certainly affected me. The pain was like bad af lcramps. They went away after a while, but man did it hurt.

On another better note... dh and I just got back from our anniversary weekend. We had a blast. We were the typical tourists. The only thing that wasn't good about the vacation was how much money was spent. I guess you lose track of money when you are having fun. But it was worth it!!!

It's amazing how much money you can go through when you don't think about every nickel and dime! Laughing

I'm glad you had a good trip!!

I'm sorry you'll have to wait even longer now. How is your husband taking it?

Thanks Mc. We had a great time. We just kept saying...we only will have our first anniversary once. So we were livin it up.

I really just have to wait about a month later than the original 3 months, since I will have had all of my treatments in the month of April.

Dh is ok with it. He just says...well we have to do what we have to do. He is ok with the whole "protection" thing now. He had a hard time with it at first.

It's amazing how much I am not bothered by the fact that af decided to show her ugly face on our anniversary!!! When you are not really trying, it doesn't feel so bad when she comes.

I remember you saying that. That is why I asked. Laughing

I'm glad you had a good first anniversary. Your right, you only get to do it once. Did you get a bunch of great pictures?

Before we started ttc. When af would show, quite honestly, I barely noticed. It was just another thing. Then as I became more baby crazy, even when I was on birth control I would cry. Laughing It is amazing how different we can view the same thing from month to month. (It must be a self preservation thing).

I don't mean to be nosey. How is your treatment done? You mentioned it was uncomfortable. Is it a shot or something else? Please feel free to disregard if you are uncomfortable answering.

We took a ton of pictures. At the end of the trip, he said...ok I think you have enough pictures now...I did! I took over 100 pictures. But Photography was my minor in college, so I love taking pictures.

This is what my doctor said about what I have...

**** There is a much more common version of HPV, referred to as "subclinical," in which the virus resides under the skin and cannot be seen. Some experts believe that HPV causes warts in about 30 percent of infected people and subclinical infections in the other 70 percent. The subclinical varieties have been linked to cancer, so it is important for women to have yearly checkups including Pap smears to detect precancerous cervical changes. ****

So I have the mild version of this which affects 70% of women. That statistic alone is pretty scary.

The treatment that they are doing is done once every 2 weeks for 3 treatments. It is called Trichloroacetic acid (TCA). They litterally "paint" it on the bad cells and then she puts something else...I think bicarbonate it's called that dulls the acid so it doesn't hurt so bad. It is uncomfortable because it is like getting a pap done every two weeks. Last time it was more uncomfortable than the first time. next monday is the last one. Yeah!!!

Shocked That sounds very uncomfortable.

The stat about 70% is very scary. And very true. I know many women that have been diagnosed. But no one ever discussed the treatment. I was just curious.

Its 3 months after your last treatment, right? So three months from monday? That isn't very far. It'll be here before you know it.

I know it will go by faster than I think. My birthday is in August, so hopefully I will get a wonderful little present for my birthday.

My birthday is in May. I am 75% sure that I will get a bfp just before then. My husband wanted to take me somewhere special and we were talking about using protection until we got back, because we are both pretty sure it will happen just before. Laughing But things fell trough. So I'm just waiting...

Star - I hope the extra three month wait will be worth it! BTW, what did you end up getting your dh for your anniversary?

Well, we spent a boat load of money on our vacation, so we decided that we didn't need to get individual gifts. I still gave him some cute love coupons with the card. We found a framed print for our house that we both liked so we bought that for our present. We just bought a new house and we are still decorating it. Well I am still decorating it. He could really care less what I do. He thinks the walls are fine the way they are with off-white paint Crying
or Very sad How boring! We had a blast on our trip.

I hope so to. I was told by my mom that one reason I may be getting such bad cramps is because I use tampons all the time. Well for the past 3 af's I have been using pads and man what a difference. I only had about half a day where they were really bad instead of the two or three full days of killer cramps. I got by on regular tylenol instead of my pain killers.

I have my last treatment next monday so I am preparing for the pain!!! Crying
or Very sad

I wish you the best for the treatment. I hope it is the last one you will ever need!
