Body Vibrates When Sleeping Posted: 04-23-07 20:47pm
My partner tells me that my body vibrates
sometimes when I sleep. It doesn't shake
or twitch it vibrates. She woke me at 2:30
in the morning the other night because she
was cuddling and it woke her up. She said
the whole bed was litterally shaking. I
have felt it on occassion when I've been
woke up. It seems to center in my abdomen
area. It's like my body is a vibrator on
low speed. Is it anxiety or what, and why
does it seem to center in my abdomen?

Hi there,
Have you had your ANA checked? I am also
vibrating at night--sometimes it wakes me
up and sometimes it doesn't. I am about to
be diagnosed with Lupus, which is an
autoimmune disorder. I do not know if it
is the cause, but I am going to be seeing
my specialist tomorrow and will ask him
about it.

I do that too - when I am awake, at least.
I don't know about asleep. It does feel
exactly like a mobile phone on Vibrate.
It seems to be my arms and legs that are
more affected. I thought it was some sort
of problem with my nervous system. I am
awaiting a nerve conduction test on my
shoulder which has been very painful for
months. If I find out anything I will
certainly post it on here.

That's it exactly! I've replied to another
post in this topic, so don't want to
double-post but please everybody, tell me
if you can find a solution...

body vibrating Posted: 03-07-08 07:37am
I have a friend that has experienced body
vibrations when she was sleeping too. I am
in the medical field and I know these
vibrations are not cardiac related nor is
it anxiety.
It sounds like it may be caused from a
condition called, "Morgellons". I guess
People who have morgellons have nano
technology in them. This technology
vibrates to certain radio frequencies. Do
research by looking up Morgellon and body
vibrating. Hope this helps.

I get the same thing happening to me. It
seems to have started in the last month .
I only feel it when im in bed but its like
my pulse is going throughout my body so
fast that im vibrating. I have felt my
pulse when this has happened and under the
vibrating i can feel its normal. What is
going on ? I am buying my first house at
the moment and have been really stressed
out. Maybe its something to do with
stress?

body vibrates while sleeping Posted: 06-04-08 08:50am
I can't tell you how relieved I am to know
that other people suffer from this and
that I am not going crazy. It only
happens during sleep, and I am not a deep
sleeper so I notice it alot. I never knew
how to describe what I am feeling because
my heart rate remains normal while the
rest of my body seems to be going a mile a
minute. It is the weirdest feeling. A
few other things I suffered from in the
past are Lyme Disease 15 years ago, Bells
Palsy 9 years ago, mitral valve prolapse
syndrome, anxiety attacks. I had a
feeling this had to do with my nervous
system but not sure how. I looked up
Mogellons as recommended, but I don't have
any "skin" problems, just this one
symptom. For other reasons, I was on an
anti depressant for a short time and
noticed it "went away" during that time,
but as soon as I went off it, the symptoms
returned. Does anyone have any more info
out there? Natural remedies, maybe?

i vibrate too Posted: 06-18-08 20:42pm
It's pretty weird & I feel that it may
be linked to some sort of 6th sense, 3rd
eye stuff.l
Really! I have had vibrations in the past
just after waking up. It's an odd, very
rapid vibration that seems to come from my
core, my chest & it flows out into
every limb. The first time this happened
was in 89. I was having one of those very
intense dreams that I could swear was
reality. I was dreaming there was an
earth quake going on & then woke up
vibrating when my Mom said it was dinner
time. I immediately looked up to see if
the c-fan was moving & it was not.
The vibrating stopped after about a min.
or so, I sat down at the table, feeling
quite light headed, I said to my family
that there was going to be a big earth
quake. The next day, SF, CA was nailed.
After that, many random premonitions
started to occur. This went on for many
years but in the last 10 yrs., much less.
The vibrations probably happen about 3-10
times per year. The last one was during
the course of an extremely odd dream that
I can remember like yesterday. I also
have always had the ability to control
certain dreams such as stop, rew, ffd,
alter the path of, etc... Hope this
doesn't just sound like a bunch of crap to
everyone. I wouldn't make this stuff up.
Anyone else have something similar going
on?

Body Vibrations Vestibular in origin? Posted: 07-09-08 01:13am
I have experienced these vibrations as
well and I don't think it is so abnormal
and I doubt it is pathological. I just
think that a lot of people don't
experience it because they are sleeping
through it. Our bodies go through four
stages of non-rem sleep before we achieve
REM sleep (rapid eye movement). If we
happen to wake up during one of those
stages or even during REM sleep, we are
bound to discover things about ourselves
that we weren't aware of. Has anyone ever
remembered a dream?
I suspect that this sensation of
vibrating, at least while in deep
meditative or REM sleep states may be a
result of inaccurate information coming
from our vestibular system in combination
with this unconcious rapid eye movement.
Our vestibular system is a portion of our
balance system that sends our brains
information on our head movements and our
position in space. There are tiny
structures in our ears that have our
sensory neurons that respond when we move
our heads. As a professional who has
studied and observed vestibular
pathologies, I have often wondered the
role of the vestibular system in our
sleep. There are few studies on the
subject.
Does anyone ever notice that this
generally happens when sleeping on your
side? I've had sleep paralysis while
sleeping on my back but never on my side.
I have had head and chest vibrations only
while sleeping on my side. I think that
sleeping in the side position has
something to do with these strange
sensations in our sleep due to the
orientation of the vestibular canals in
our ears. Perhaps our brains are receiving
confusing signals from our vestibular
system or vestibular neuron activity in
the brainstem. If anyone has read any
studies on this, please share them. I
haven't found much basis for my shallow
theory, but it just makes sense to me that
our balance system is the culprit.
