I Want to Get Pregnant Please Help Me.
Posted: 04-23-07 21:28pm

My boyfriend and I have been trying to conceive a baby for about 8 months now. We have tried so many times in a month that I can not even count but it seems that no matter how hard we try or what we do I still have a period. We really want to have a baby. Please help us.

Welcome to ehealth!

Are your cycles regular? Do you chart temperatures or use any opk's?

How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

My cycles are not always regular but I have used ovulation testers before. I have had sex when it said that it was the right time on the tester but I still had a period. I am 19.

You are probably going to hear this alot, but I'm going to say it agian, anyways. It takes a healthy couple up to 12 months to conceive. So while 8 months seems like a long time, you really shouldn't worry yet.

Do you use the ovulation predictors regularly? For how long?

How often are you and your bf having sex?

Well we usually try to try every day but sometimes that doesnt happen. We used the prediction testers about every other week. What is there that we can do that could speed up the process and that may help us?

You should be having sex every other day. It takes 48-72 hrs for sperm to mature. If there is a bunch of immature sperms swimming around it will take much longer. One of our ladies on here recently went to the doctor. She was told to bd on day 1,3,5 and 7, going off of a opk.

Have you started taking prenatal vitamins yet?

No I have not been taking prenatal vitamins. Where should I get them at and what brand is the best? Will those help me get pregnant faster?? And is there anything that my boyfriend can do to help?

Prenatal vitamins will not technically help you get pregnant. But they are always a good idea. You should ideally, start taking them 3 months before you conceive, or start ttc. Your doctor can write you a prescription or you can go to any major store and buy them. (walmart, target, cvs, and grocery stores for example). Prenatal vitamins aid your body in promoting a healthy environment for an embryo to implant and develop. It also aids in development which is important.

Are there any natural pills or vitamins that I can take to make concception faster or easier?? And could there be something wrong with me that could be the reason I have not gotten pregnant?? My mom had her tubes blocked I think before she had me and it took her eight years to conceive. I dont want that to happen to me and she said that it is not genetically passed on which I hope is true.
