I Want to Cry

i am in so much pain right now.
this morning nancy and i were talking
about how lifting and carrying our hefty
babies hurts our backs and coincidentally
my back went out when i was picking finn
up. it's the worst it's ever been, i feel
like i could throw up. i can seriously
barely move and getting up off the couch
or my bed is a huge task. forget walking,
i look like a little old lady shuffling
along.
thank god finn's been taking good naps
today so i don't have to worry about
picking him up. when i do have to pick him
up i end up manhandling him, pulling him
up by his arm and holding him like a sack
of potatoes.
i'm waiting for a call back from a nurse
so she can ask me some questions about my
pain and i can get in to see the doctor. i
hope they get me in soon. i need a serious
anti-inflammatory or some good
painkillers, i can't deal with finn like
this and it just happens too often (but
not this bad).

nick offered to come home but i told him
to finish out the day, he'll be home in an
hour and a half. he also offered to take
tomorrow off but i think my mom has the
day off so she can come over if i need her
to.
i've been sitting on the heating pad
pretty much all day. i'm also trying to
get up and walk around whenever i can
because it helps to keep moving. this is
just the worst it's ever been and walking
isn't really working right now.
i hate this so much. i don't really know
what they can do for someone who
constantly throws their back out.

I don't want this to sound rude. But, are
you lifting .Finn correctly? (mind you I
don't know what that would be...) but that
could be why it is happening repeatedly.
You might want to try a moist heating pad
(or a sock with rice in it) Sometimes the
moist heat will help muscles more.

Awwwww!! B, I'm soo sorry!
Is it mid back pain? Or your .sciatic
nerve being pinched?
EIther way, it hurts!!
I had .sciatica during my pregnancy, in
the beginning and at the end, and I
literally wanted to just lay there and
cry.
Try doing some knee to chest excercises.
And some other leg/back stretches.
The moist heating pad works a lot better
than a regular one! I used it for my
.sciatica with .oni!

well, i went from wanting to cry to full
out crying. the doctor won't see me. a
nurse just called and asked all these
questions and then said because i'm not an
established patient that they can't get me
in, then she tells me to take 600-800 mg
of ibuprofen 3 times a day (done, you
fool) and to try heat (which i've been
doing).
i do suffer from mild sciatica but it's
not enough to interfere with my day to day
life. what i have now is a serious muscle
spasm, i get them all the time but this is
the worst it's ever been. i just need to
wait it out but it's so hard because of
finn. i was hoping they could give me
something to ease the pain so i can take
care of finn properly now and in the
future when this happens again (because i
know it will many more times).
i'm so upset.

the nurse told me to go to the er if i
wanted medication. i've gone to the er
before for this and they've always only
given me like 6 pills. also i think our er
co-pay is like $50 as opposed to the $5
office visit.
i was hoping that my doctor could give me
a prescription or at least a full bottle
of pills and also go over some options
with me on how we can fix this or keep it
from happening so frequently.
diane, this is so stupid but i'm afraid of
the chiropractor. i hate those
adjustments, it stresses me out just
thinking about it.
i'm just going to have to ride it out. i
don't know if back issues run in families
but my mom is always having muscle spasms
and other issues too.

Yeah, the er only gives you like 2 days
worth of meds. It is supposed to tide you
over untill you can get into your regular
doctor.
You might want to go through the phone
book and just keep calling doctors untill
you can find one that can get you in
tomorrow. That way at least you'll be an
established patient somewhere in case this
happen agian.

this was my doctor, i'm in their computer
and she's the one on my insurance card.
nick and finn go there too. i've just
never actually been there before.
it's all so stupid. the nurse was like
"well, you need to get your old records
sent here" and i told her i didn't have
any records because my old doctor's office
threw them away. so she said she needs the
records from my pediatrician. i'm 28 years
old, what do they need with my childhood
records?
so i have an appointment set up for my new
patient physical but it's not until june.

a row they refused me. but the inital appt
was too far out and i needed the physical
asap to come to germany, any other dr i
went to i never had to be established as a
patient. but i know now for the future.

I was really stressed about going to have
adjustments too, but I went to a .D.O as
opposed to a .Chiropractor, and she snaps
my back. I could just kiss her when it's
all over. It makes all the difference in
the world.
Lifting with your legs and not your back
or arms is good advice.
I hope your back feels better soon.

I know that you don't like chiropractors
but I am obsessed with mine. I seriously
think that I am an adjustment junkie. I
haven't been able to go to the chiro in
quite some time and I am about to go
insane because my back hurts.
My stepdad used to have horrible back pain
where he couldn't even work but my mom got
him to start going to my chiro and now he
has no problems at all.
