Vibrating When Sleeping
Posted: 04-25-07 23:57pm

I have asked this question on a few sites and they all think i'm asking about shaking when I'm asleep or trembling etc. It is none of that. I vibrate. My partner woke me up last week because she said the whole bed was shaking. I could feel my insides vibrating. It seems to be mostly in my abdomen area. It doesn't happen that often but it's just weird and it really bothers my partner. What is it?

Hi! I just posted a reply to another topic, but I think yours might describe me also. I'm wondering if you've had any luck finding out anything yet. Are you still experiencing the same thing?

My vibrations occur upon waking, or at least that is when I notice them...they might be occuring while I'm asleep and I don't notice. When I wake up, I vibrate for about 30 seconds. I can move during that time and I'm able to talk, etc. I just keep vibrating. I wonder if it's neurological, blood sugar, hormones, etc.....no clue.

It's not a really disturbing problem to have, but it bothers me because I'd like to know the cause and, of course, I worry that this is just a symptom of a larger problem.

Hi there,

Have you two had your ANA checked? I am also vibrating at night--sometimes it wakes me up and sometimes it doesn't. I am about to be diagnosed with Lupus, which is an autoimmune disorder. I do not know if it is the cause, but I am going to be seeing my specialist tomorrow and will ask him about it.

I suppose I get a similair experience, but only when I take a "cat-nap"...

Maybe it's something to do with your sleep cycle, seeing as I get it only when I'm not "supposed" to have been sleeping, according to my body clock?

Just wanted you to know I have the same thing happening. Usually notice it if I am suddenly awakened right after falling asleep. Last night the phone rang and while I was walking to the phone, I was still vibrating. I always thought it was in my head, until my partner was alarmed one night by it.

I can't find anything on the internet either, but it'd be nice to know if we should worry, huh!
