What is the length of time required to
diagnose someone with Bipolar Disorder by

visits. Is it possible. Please add in

Hahahahaha, no! The patient must be
viewed over an extended period to avoid
the possibility that the cause is
something physical. In my case for
example, had a doctor looked at me a
second or two about three years ago, they
would have thought I was bipolar. Too bad
it was just a sugar disorder that I
figured out on my own, but many people
aren't so lucky. There needs to be at
least one major depressive episode and one
major manic episode for the diagnosis to
be met, as well as the symptoms lasting
around 2 months or so. Otherwise, it
could be any number of issues. Most
doctors don't take this into account.
