3rd Month of Trying
Posted: 04-26-07 10:57am

hello, i am new to this forum and my husband and i are in our 3rd month of trying. i ended my birth control in feb. i have 28 day cycles and was suppose to start yesterday...hasn't come yet. i have had some hurting in my side/lower stomach, it does not really feel like cramping but it could be. usually i get my period as soon as i start cramping. i also got a yeast infection about 2 days ago and read that that comes sometimes with pregnancy. i may just be over reacting since this is our first. i really just need someone to talk to, because we are not telling anyone that we are trying, and so i have no one to talk to....not even mom Crying

Welcome to ehealth.

You should try posting in the getting pregnant forum. There are a lot of really nice girls over there that are also trying to get pregnant. DH and I have been trying for 7 months with no luck. We are currently on a 4 month break of ttc due to health reasons.
I hear you on the not telling anyone that you are trying. The only people that know that we are "trying" are my best friend, my mom and sister in law. Other than my best friend who I tell everything to, they don't even know we are really actively trying. They just know that we are not doing anything to avoid it. For me, it is almost a little embarrasing when you let people know you are trying and its not working.

Good luck and stop by the getting pregnant forum and say hi!

Welcome to ehealth!

You should try posting on the "getting pregnant" forum. There a many knowledgable and supportive women there that are going through the same thing. You will probably get a better responce there.

My name is .Christy, I'm 20 and I recently bagan ttc as well. (I stopped birth control on 2-20-07.) We haven't told many people yet. The only people that know are my mom and my sil.

What you are describing sounds very promising! When are you planning on testing?

well thank you ladies for the reply. there are way too many things to read on here. i could spend all day and still be behind. we are really excited and yet nervous about being parents. but we are ready...at least we think. i am actually right now watching my little nephew and he is bouncing off the walls...along beside my dog. its about to drive me crazy...guess it is a little more natural when it is your own.

When we watch my 5 yr old niece without her parents, I think I am going to go insane sometimes. She wears me out physically as well as emotionally. I sometimes get so worked up when she is constantly trying to get my attention and show me something. DH knows when my breaking point is close and he takes over playing with her for a while so I can recoup! It is more natural when you have your own, because you are around them constantly since they are infants, so you just learn to adapt to their behavior as they grow up.

If you can wait until satuday, then more power to you. I personally, have no self control and would have tested yesterday. Laughing

Make sure you let us know the results as soon as you do!

well i would've tried today and my husband even wanted me to, but the first month we got off the bc my first period was wacked and i was spotting and we got so excited that it was probably implantation bleeding and so we got some tests and did both of them in 2 days and they were both neg....it is such a terrible feeling. i mean you are all pumped and excited and then..........nothing. so i have decided that i will wait this time...don't know what i will do if it is still neg. like jeff foxworthy said.."if your going to fail at something, woohoo, might as well be this" just get to keep trying...thats the best part anyway, right Wink

As long as you remember that, you'll be fine. Sometimes, it's easy to forget that it is fun trying. Wink

well it sounds like some of you have been trying for a while. my husband and i have been married for a little over 2 years and we were so against kids....well at least having them right away. we were, are, so happy together just to 2 of us and the thought of a baby just seemed like to much trouble. its just that i know that kids take up so much time from you and the husband. the beginning of the year is when we were finally like ok...we think we are ready. probably if i have to wait too long i might get a little on edge. its is just a scary thought to me sometimes to think that the life of a child is in my hands. my dad will be the happiest of us all i think. he is always on us to have him a grandchild...he's so funny. we have only been trying for a short time so i think that the feeling of "its never going to happen" hasn't hit .... yet

That "it's never gonna happen" feeling hits everone at a different time. Hopefully, your already pregnant and you wont get that feeling at all.

When you went off birth control, did you adjust fine? Or did it take a while for you to get into a regular cycle?

My husband and I just had out 1 year anniversary. At first after we got married, my husband and I both didn't want kids yet, we wanted it to be just us. Well, we just decided that we were going to make an effort to try to get pregnant one day. We haven't really been officially ttc for 7 months. I say that because for some of those months, we were just unable to do the deed on the right days ya know? For health reasons, we have to put ttc on hold right now, but after that, we are going to go at it with full force.
How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 29, almost 30, urgggg Crying

My husband and I have wanted children for forever. Since, maybe a year after we were together we knew we wanted to have children with each other. Just not right then. So here we are 4 years later and 6 months into our marriage, and now would be good timing. We aren't "activly" trying though.(no temping or opks or anything) We're just "letting it happen". Rolling Eyes It's killing me to. I'm an all or nothing type person, and this sit back and relax thing just isn't working!

i am 25 but i don't feel like that...i feel like i should still be 18--haha. i was only on bc for about 2 and half years. but no i really had no probs coming off. i mean there was the terrible mood swings....my poor husband, and like i said the spotting before i started my first month. but last month i was normal. exactly 28 from my last one... which is what i was when i was on bc. i guess i am pretty normal, at least that what my obgyn tells me everytime i go in....spread it all out there to hear the same thing everytime, which is good

Yeah...no one ever tells you about the mood swings. I remember crying one night, my dh asked what was wrong, I, sobbing, replied "If I cant handle the hormons without the birth control, I'm never gonna be able to handle pregnancy hormones!" I was so upset. (Him laughing didn't make it any better). I'm glad it didn't mess with you to much.

ya, my husband just got to where everyday he would ask me. whats the matter, or what did i do today. then it would make things worse because i felt like it would never end. i think sometimes the pressures of life make things worse...like living in the city. i think that if we lived on a farm somewhere that the mood swings would not be so bad. you see i am a country girl living in the city now that i am married. i really hate it sometimes and wish i could go back a small town. everything is just so busy in the city. guess that is also why the 3 months we have been trying don't feel like that long. probably when the summer comes and i am done teaching 14 2nd graders the mommy in me will kick in a little more.

I probably would have never started ttc if I taught 2nd grade. Shocked Actually, I've always wanted to be a teacher. Just not were I live. If I moved to a smaller town I would.

The city can be quite an adjustment! Everything is very now, now, now. It can take some time. Have you talked about moving back?

ya we have talked of moving to a smaller town just outside of the city, but if we will ever i don't know.

ya 2nd grade can be a hand full. my patience wears out before the day does....so the kids get it from me as well...haha Very
Happy but we started trying when we did because we figured that it would take us the rest of the school year to get preg....at least. i really just didn't want to be big preg during our hot summer here in texas... that would be miserable.
