Just a warning, hon. This is a very sensitive subject with quite a few ladies and it might get out of hand.

There is no way to jumpstart labor. It will happen when it happens. Doing things like walking, having sex, eating spicy foods, drinking/eating various things... they only work if your body is ready to go.

I know the last weeks of pregnancy are tough, but try to hang in there.

you can't bring on labor yourself unless your baby is absolutely ready to come out. the last weeks of my pregnancy i took evening primrose oil & had lots of sex (not to try to induce labor- i just like sex Laughing ) but my son wasn't born until the day before my due date.

i know you didnt say you were gonna do anything (and lets try to keep it that way) but if you do get "deserate" as you put it, why cant you just wait

you due soon right, like this week or next?

its not gonna be much longer, at most doctors usualy only let you go 2 weeks overdue then they induce you, im 37 weeks on tuesday and i just dont get why people cant wait, i mean yeah, its uncomfortable, but its all for you babys health and well being, im even still going to school and work, i just dint understand it

anyway, no matter what anyone says, nothing you do will make you go into labor sooner then you baby and body are ready, like laura and krissy said, sex doesnt really work, walkingdoesnt work, please dont try walking halfon a curb half off, not only does it not work but it will cause you a great deal of pain (i know a lot of people who swore this worked before they tried it and were in so much pain my the timethey went into labor they couldnt really do it), castor oil is dangerous (or so ive heard, it can make the baby poo in the amniotic fluid) and itll makeyou have the runs, not very pleasent

just hang in there, it wont be too much longer

i dont think you offended anyone

at least not me, i just dont understand why people cant wait

but if your afraid of being induced or whatever, then i guess i can undersand it

the only safe thing ive heard of that really helps is nipple stimulation and orgasms...but those only help after it already gets going, or so ive been told

so theres really nothing you can do, sorry

Eventually you will go into labor. I don't know that .i've ever heard of someone never going into labor on their own. So if you're worried about the hospital inducing you, you can always opt to go naturally. Wink

but yeah, there's really nothing you can do to make labor happen unless your body is already there and ready for it. But you can try sex if you like. It's fun, it feels good, and you probably won't have time for it (or want it) for a little while after your baby is here. Looking back, I wish I had more sex before my daughter was born. Laughing

also a bit of food for thought: inductions don't always work either if your body isn't ready. You'll have contractions, but they won't be consistant and they won't do the job of dilating and effacing you if your body doesn't want it yet. Quite a few inductions end in c-sections because of failure to progress. If you're induced, try to keep in mind that once they break your water you're on a timer.
