I'am 27 and my doctor is urging me to have
a hysterectomy and have my ovaries
removed, does anyone have any advised as
to whether I should have both my ovaries
removed or just my uterus? Thanks

Are you having problems that would bring
the doctor to the conclusion you need a
hysterectomy? (bleeding, pain, cancer,
endometriosis, cysts, etc)
27 is too young to have a complete
hysterectomy, and normally, except under
extreme circumstances, a physician would
not even recommend it.

I am sorry to hear
that. I struggled with endo for about 4
years. I tried every treatment, had
endless surgery's. I am now 24. I had a
complete hysterectomy when I was 22. I do
not have any children. I married two
months after my surgery. My husband has
stood behind my every step of the way.
About 6 months after the surgery, I
started having pain once more. I went to
the er, and my doctor told me that it was
all in my head. He amitted me into the
hospital and sent a shrink up to my room.
I then was furious, I removed the iv and
got dressed and walked out. I found a new
doctor, and it ended up that I had severe
adhesions to my colon and bowels. I am
trying not to scare you, but I have not
felt this good in a long time. It is a
very hard decision to make, but you do
what feels right to you not what makes
everyone happy.
