6 Weeks Postpartum!
Posted: 04-30-07 16:50pm

i just got back a little bit ago from my 6 week postpartum doctor's appointment! it went really well. she said everythings looks great & i have healed perfectly. i got my prescription for my birth control.. although i can't start it until i get my period again. i'm gonna be taking .ortho .tri-.cyclen .lo... is anybody on that?

gabe is 6 weeks old as of yesterday! his 2 month check up is on .may 15th.. he's getting so big & he's so beautiful. He smiles & coo's & ahh's sooo much. he woke me up this morning by just coo-ing & making laughing noises. i got up to get him & he was just looking around at all his toys smiling. adorable.

but anyway.

it is freakin hot outside today! it's 90 degrees here! it's pretty nice, though. it's not humid.. so that's good. i may take .gabe on a walk in a little health forum & i had some more amazing sex last night.. Laughing .good times, man. good times. it feels even better now than it ever did before. Shocked

why do you have to wait for your period before you can start your pill? just wondering. i started mine at 2 weeks pp and it put my body right on track.

i think (for me) sex is waaaay better post-pregnancy. i mean, it was great before but now it's always amazing.

i want to see more pics of that beautiful boy! i can't believe he's 6 weeks. i can't wait for a report after his appointment so we can see how much he's grown.

i'm glad things are going well for you!

i dunno, .b! i asked her why i couldn't start taking it now, & she said it's just easier to start it the first day i start my period again. *shrugs*

.i think my sister has her camera in her purse & she's at work- but hopefully later tonight i can get some cute pictures & videos of him being silly.

You can start birth control at any time during your cycle as long as there is no chance of pregnancy. If you start it the first day of you period they are effective immediately, while if you start them at any other time it takes a week to be effective. Maybe that is why? Confused

i was always told to start the pill the sunday after my period. when you open the box of birth control the first day it starts with is sunday. i did read the pamphlet though, and it says you can start it anyday, it refers to it as "any day starter". but then you might get confused by the days as you will be taking them on different days then what the pill box says.

The pack should include a set of stickers that start with everyday of the week that you can stick on top of the days that are referenced on the pack. That's what I always did. Otherwise I would get to confused! Laughing

lol, yeah, caca happens! thats why if you choose to have sex you gotta accept the consequences. i wonder if it was that particular brand of pill that didnt work for you, or if it would have happened on any pill?
