Hey ladies! I need some help and i am wondering if this has happened to any of you. First of all I am 8wks pregnant as of tomorrow. i have had some spotting, on and off, it has been just a little for a day or so then it stops for a day or so. It is really brown as well (like chocolatety kind of) sorry tmi. So my doctor sent me for blood work two days in a row to check my levels. The first day my levels had gone up since my routine blood work a few days before then the next day my levels dropped a bit. My doctor then sent me for more blood work yesterday and scheduled me for an ultrasound tomorrow (thursday) I don't see her until tomorrow afternoon so today is going to be a really long day for me.

Has anyone else's levels ever dropped but still went on to have a normal pregnancy Question

Please help me I am really worried Sad

Pregnacy
I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, WHEN I WAS PREGNANT WITH MY FIRST CHILD, I HAD A SLIGHT PERIOD FOR THE FIRST 3 MONTHS. I HAD A NORMAL PREGNACY. I WAS PREGNANT A FEW YEARS BEFORE THAT. I HAD A LITTLE BROWN DISCHARGE, NOT A PERIOD. THE DOCTOR DID AN ALTRA SOUND,SAID THERE WAS NO HEART-BEAT, THAT I PROBABLY HAD A MISCARAGE. I LISTENED TO HIM, THE NEXT DAY THEY DID A DNC. I WISH I HAD WAITED AWHILE BEFORE I HAD THE DNC. THE PREGNACY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE. WHEN I WAS PREGNANT WITH MY FIRST CHILD THAT LIVED, I WENT TO A DIFFERENT DOCTOR, HE TOLD ME THE BABIES HEART-BEAT COULD NOT BE HEARD UNTIL AROUND 6 WEEKS OF PREGNACY. I WAS UPSET WITH THE OTHER DOCTOR, BECAUSE I WAS JUST 3-4 WEEKS PREGNANT WHEN HE DID THE DNC. I THINK HE WENT TO FAST WITH HIS DIAGNOSIS. SO BE CAREFUL, GET PLENTY OF REST. TRY NOT TO WORRY. TCK

Everything Seems Okay!!!!!
Well I went to the doctors today for my results and my levels are no longer dropping. They actually went up a lot. Also I went for an ultrasound and the baby has a nice strong heartbeat (151) and and is the right size for being 8 weeks pregnant. My doctor cannot explain why my levels dropped that one time but she said that everything looks good now.

I was so relieved today. These last two days were hell for me. So thanks for everyone's nice words of comfort.

Shanyan, what were your levels at before they dropped and after?

My wife had blood work yesterday and today and the levels were 234 yesterday and 213 today and the dumb nurse tells my wife that you probably had a mc which I didn't think was the best thing to tell her over the phone right now since the levels didn't drop that much.

Thanks
Wayne

Re:hcg Levels
I had my first 2 tests done at 6wks 5d and 6wks 6d. The first test was 19 thousand and something (I don't remember exactly) then the second test dropped to 18 thousand and something. My doctor was concerned because it is usually not a good thing when your levels drop. Then my last results were when I was 7wks and 5d and my levels had gone up to almost 36 thousand. So my doctor was really happy. She couldn't explain why my levels did that.

How far along is your wife Question I do not know too much about what levels should be at.

I hope that this helped a bit. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Good luck!!

Well, its hard to say exactly how far. It would have been on easter that we conceived so she would be 3 weeks as of last sunday.

She has some bleeding on wed while she was at work and about 2-3 hours later when she checked again she was fine. It was just bright red blood she said. She had no pain at all, just the normal tiny bit of cramping here and there.

I have basically told her just to not worry and hopefully we will get through this and everything will be alright. If not, we will try again.

She has another exam next Thur that I am going to try to be back for to see what the doctor says and sees.

Thanks,
Wayne
