Sexual Intercourse After D&c Posted: 05-02-07 14:51pm
I had a D&C for a blighted ovum on
April 24th, (a week and one day ago) and
trying to figure out when i can have sex
again. The take home directions say two
weeks, other things I read say 4 weeks or
until after your 1st period or check up.
I guess because of the reason your
supposed to wait longer, can anyone shed
some light??

You should call your doctor and ask them
or a nurse. I think there is a difference
between sex and unprotected sex when it
comes to how long you have to wait. But I
am not positive. I'm sure someone will be
around that knows more about it than me.

If your doctor gave you directions that
said 2 weeks, you should go by what your
doctor gave you. If you ever have any
questions regarding a procedure done by
your doctor/hospital/clinic - it is always
within reason to call them and ask. That
is their job and what they are there for.
I'm going to assume you have a follow up
appointment with him at approximately the
2 week mark to check that you are healing
well. That would be the perfect time to
ask!

After the recommended time. Otherwise you
are at risk of infection.

Yeah my follow up is scheduled for 6
weeks, so I assume I am to wait until
then, I guess because of the situation its
a little different than a D&C with a
miscarriage so... I guess I will just
wait. DARN IT!! LOL
