So Here We Go

Hi ladies,
So yesterday I did my first iui and stayed
home yesterday afternoon and off work
today too. They say you dont need to rest
but I want to do everything in my power to
help this process. This is the first
month I have no ovulation pain which
worries me as to what if my ovulation is
later and the iui will be completely a
waste of time. I got a opk positive on
Tuesday so they did the iui the next day.
I don't know, my dh and I will bd tonight
just in case. His mobility is only 50%
and after they did the wash it was 95%.
His numbers after the was were 50 million
and that is really good. Hopfully iui was
not a waste of hope, money ($1000), and
our time.

wow...I didn't realize that the wash
helped the motility process. That's good
news! My dh has average motility and a
high count...but I'm convinced that his
running has impacted our ability to
conceive. He is an Ultra runner...and runs
8 hours a day on the weekends and about 10
hours during the week. I think this
qualifies as "extreme" exercise...but he
doesn't agree. Hopefully the "washing"
process will help our chances with the
IUI.

Negar, I wish you the best 2ww ever!
My husband hasn't been tested for count,
motility, or morphology yet because we
haven't yet gone to the specialist. He
did an OTC sperm check today and he thinks
he came out low but says it was hard to
tell. If we find out (after going to the
dr) that he does have a sperm problem,
then iui would probably be our best
alternative as well. So I have picky
question and you can answer me by pm if
you wish, but we have to cover 50% of the
cost of the iui. Was the $1000 you spent
a portion or the full cost?

Wash is when they take semen and put it in
a machine that seperates the good from the
bad. It is usually a 2 hr. process. This
is very helpful if the male motility is
low. My husband's is 50% and after wash,
it was 95%. his count is pretty up there.
minimum is 10 million, and his was 50
million. I hope that answers your
question.

$1000 was the full cost, including ultra
sound on my cd11 for them to determin how
many matured eggs I had. I had 2 which is
average I guess with Clomid and my uterus
wall was also thick enough. Anyhow my
insurance does not pay for any of these
 and that is really
hard on us.

When you really think about it $1000 isn't
that bad considering what all is involved.
I hope it works for you the first time
around! Will they be doing a blood test or
are they going to wait for you to be
late?
Do you happen to remember how think the
lining was?

:whispers: So if there were two matured
eggs...couldn't you technically have
twins.

you are right $1000 is not that much. But
if you count all we have spent this year
with the preparation testing and all, we
have spent $7000
and if this doesnt work and the next two
iui ($2000) then the ivf is 10k, and we
cannot afford that anymore....
I think the lining was 3 centemeters. and
I don't know about the twins...I suppose
that is how it happens I wouldn't
mind...I would love it as long as both are
healthy...and would love not having to
EVER go through TTC again....

Wow...$7000 is alot more than $1000. And Insurance
doesn't cover any right? I don't think
mine does. Wow...$10,000. I don't think I
could do that You must be so
frustrated. I'm sorry.
I would love twins personally. Always
wanted them!
My lining was 9mm on saturday. I wonder
what that mean? I can't find any info on
it online.

what are your thoughts on this?
yesterday being 48 hrs after my iui, i had
a bit of ovulation cramps. in order for
the iui to work, you are suppose to
ovulate within 6 to 12 hrs after the
injection.
I am reaching here...its only 2 dpo and i
am like this

Maybe its not ovulation cramps. Maybe its
implantation cramps.
Don't give up yet. Did you use opk's to
determine when you o'ed or did you go by
calendar date?
Keep your head up and stay positive! Were
here for you!

Well, stay positive and bd if you want to.
Thanks for the information It gives us an
idea of cost before we go to the
specialist.

thanks for asking.
I had very minor cramping the night before
last after my husband and I bd and a light
cramping for 10 minutes yesterday. I felt
sleepy all afternoon yesterday and a
little sick to my stomach and I believe it
was just the heat we had in SF.
Today I am fine. I feel nothing so far
I wake up hoping to be nauseous sometimes
and then I am dissapointed. no sore bbs.
well, a little if I put pressure on them
gently. I have a little of creamy cm
Hmmm, I don't know... Here's hoping
I have never done temping. I wish I had,
so I would know how that is going. Oh,
and I have developed allergies since a few
days ago!!! not too bad but it bothers
me.

I have heard that allergies/sesitivity can
be a sign. But I don't want to get your
hopes up.
Do they have you scheduled to come in for
a blood test or do they want to wait for
you to get a bfp at home? (I appologize if
I have already asked this)
And remember many women don't develope ms
until 6+ weeks, so don't get disapointed
if it doesn't show up until after your
bfp!

Well, I am only in my 5th day past iui.
They want me to get a bfp before calling
them.
Thanks for responding mc, it's nice to
talk to someone. I have kept this a
secret so well and don't even talk to my
husband about my every day pondering and
obsessing much. he has too much on his
plate. We are moving out of our place
this week. We leased it yesterday and she
wants to move in by next Monday. We are
moving in with my parents for a while to
save some money. This TTC has been hard
financially as well as emotionally. So, I
will be doing much packing this week. the
good thing is that we are leaving most of
our stuff since we leased it furnished, so
a little less to pack. The bad thing is
that I am emotionally attached to my stuff

Living with family can be a good thing.
Your really in a great support group all
the time. It can get trying. (trust me)
But it is a great way to save money, and
it does seem like you guys have shelled
out a pretty penny so far!
Does your family know that you are ttc?

Your parents knowing will make it easier
too. You'll have someone to talk to other
than your dh. (sometimes they just don't
understand)
I will probably test today or tomorrow
just because I have no will power. But I
fully expect to be late this month. That
is how I knew I had a cyst both times
before, because they interupted my cycle
for 3 months.
I know I'm not pregnant. And it will be
really hard on my when i'm late. Just
bacause I know there is no chance, but it
not being there will really mess with me.
Sigh...
