Help-hiv Test Has One Dark Line One Light Line Posted: 05-03-07 23:34pm
so i took an hiv at home test. the line at
the C is very dark red and obvious and
blunt. the T has a slight shadow of a line
nothing compared to the C line but still a
very light pink line. does this mean
HIV+??? im going to get checked at the
hospital soon but does this happen
often...why is it so unclear??? any
reassurance???

Probably because most home tests are not
FDA approved. Last I heard, only one at
home test was FDA approved, and it does
not sound like that's the one that you
used. That means it's not as reliable as
the test the doctor will give you.
Honestly, I would trash that home test
without worrying too much about it and
just head for the doctor.

well i guess its not an at home test. its
a rapid test given to me from a
clinic...not exactly "at home" and
apparently ithink it is fda approved.
ADVANCED QUALITY...im nervous now ugh.

Ah, I see. I am not very familiar with
those, so I can't give you much
information. Either way, don't panic yet
and go to the doctor. False positives are
actually much more common than false
negatives, so you can never panic after
just one test.

fact positive???
im going in on monday to have a test done
to make sure. does it matter that i used
Dasani water for the test? and like i said
the C line was Deep dark red and very
noticable. the T line was barely a line,
very faint. but there.
