Most Embarrassing Moment!

My poor lil' man.

We have only lived in our house for a few weeks. I went over to my neighbors house for the first time to visit. My son and her son went upstairs to play. They are extremely careful with their carpets (i.e., shoes off before going upstairs...). My neighbor's little boy comes down stairs and mentions how it smells of poop really bad and how Nate is just laying there. For people who don't know, Nathan is on day two of cleansing and is on medication. He was doing fine and we were only going to stay there for five minutes. He had just had a blow out before we went over there. Well, I went upstairs to check on him and there was diarrhea all over their nice carpet. Nate was just laying there. He has never had a blow up like that ever!! Nathan had poop all up and down his leg, on his shirt, everywhere!. It was so horrible. The room smelled so bad. To make matters worse, he happened to be in the kid's older brothers room who is a little OCD and notices everything!! He is at school right now.

There appears to be a little stain in the carpet but my neighbor doesn't believe in using carpet cleaners or other stuff to get the poop out. She said if water doesn't work, nothing will. I know something will help it come out. She does agree to have someone come out and clean the carpet if needed. So, we may have to hire a carpet cleaner. I really believe something else will work but what else can I do? I feel so bad but slightly irritated that she won't try resolve it or something else besides water.

To top that off, I think I am having pregnancy poop problems due to internal hemorroids. I also have two dogs and need to pick up their poop. In about 11 or so weeks, we will be changing our newborns diapers several times a day.
Oh, the joys of poop

To top it off, it's my 5 year wedding anniversary today!! We are celebrating tomorrow, not tonight.

oh boy, that's awful... poor nathan.

your neighbor sounds a little nuts. just water? there is an *amazing* carpet cleaner called .folex. they sell it at walmart, it's in a very plain white spray bottle and it works wonders.

how did the neighbor react to this?

Oh, how horrible. I would have died. I feel so bad for nathan! How old is he agian?

Yeah, I would be a little preterbed that she isn't trying to clean the carpet at all. Confused Was she pissy with you about it? If you do have to hire a carpet cleaner I would specify that only that room is to be cleaned. No more!

Is there anything you can do for internal hemorroids? Or just time?

Nathan is 3 years. 8 months. Old enough to feel a little embarrassed. When I was cleaning Nate up, the other little boy poked his head in the room and said "That's the first little boy I ever seen naked besides my brother." The boy is only 5 years old. It was actually kind of funny. I just feel so bad for Nathan, though. He seems fine right now and is playing right here. He seems to bounce back quickly.

The girl is actually not being that pissy about it. She said it's gross but not a big deal. She did seem a little annoyed that it might be stained but that is understandable. I know whenever I feel like something may stain the carpet, I get out cleaner immediately to avoid a stain. It just seems like she should try something on it. I offered to buy her some carpet cleaner stuff from the store and some "fragrance"!
I may have to get some Folex for myself. Thanks for that tip!

Most carpet cleaning companies require you to clean two rooms. If we need to hire one, I will call around. Perhaps I will just be a nice neighbor and clean two of her rooms if I can't find a company to only clean one.

I don't think you can do anything for internal hemorroids!! It's just a pain in the butt!! Laughing

Laughing Yeah, I didn't think you could.

She is a mother herself so I was hoping she would be understanding. But you never know.

Oh Poor .Nate!! And poor you. Who ever heard of not using something besides water to clean your carpets? Odd.

I'm glad he's getting cleaned out though.

Ask your doc, but mine told me it was ok to use preparation H. There are a couple kinds. Some that is not ok to use up there, and some that is.
It worked wonders.

I have some ointment for hemorrhoids (I suffer from external ones thanks to giving birth) & it comes with an applicator that you can use on internal ones. It's a uk brand I'm guessing, but I'm sure there'll be an equivalent one you could use! I'd see your doctor about it if you're unsure though.

Thanks guys I will ask my doc for some stuff. I honestly didn't think there was anything for internal hemorroids but I guess I was wrong. Good to know there may be help out there.

Yeah, I would think it would be unsafe to not use some cleaner to get out that poop. Strange

Oh, your poor little guy!! I'm glad he bounced back quickly though. Sometimes things like really mess with their confidence.

I remember one time when my stepdaughter was still having her bowel problems. She wasn't quite 2 years old yet and she was on miralax to help her poo. We had given it to her early one morning. We went to church later and that's when the miralax decided to work. She had the stinkest, runiest poo that day that I think she has ever had. (Sorry...tmi). Half of the church could hear her and were laughing instead of listening to the preacher. Needless to say, we didn't give her the miralax before going to church anymore!!!! If she .H.A.D to have it, then we stayed home!!!!!!

Oh, about the hemmoroids...my husband had internal ones once before. The doctor gave him some medicine with and applicator type thing. I think it was called proctofoam...or something like that. It helped him within a couple of days. Might consider asking the doc about it. Hope you feel better!!!
