hey, i'm about 26 and a half weeks
pregnant and i have a lot of stretch marks
on my stomach. It looks kinda gross and i
notice that not a lot of girls have them
as much as me. And it's not like i gained
huge weight, i've actually only gained
5lbs so far. i use the cocoa butter stuff
everyday but it doesn;t seem to make a
difference. did anyone else have bad marks
on thier belly? and did they somewhat go
away after a while? thanks:)

It all depends on the person and your skin
type, some people even think it's genetic.
My mom got them really bad and my sister
got literally only 1 and i got a couple.
Don't look at it as being a bad thing
though, i know they're ugly looking but
your having a baby so what do you expect
to happen? And at least it's for a very
meaningful reason, you should be proud of
those stretchies girl!
Cocoa butter works really good, I've used
it on stretchmarks from loosing weight so
fast and it worked really good for me. it
don't really make them go away but it
helps the color fade to the color of your
skin.
The stretchies I did get you can't even
tell now and they're really small. I plan
on having a huge family so mine will most
likely just get worse!

Yeah stretch marks are totally
unpredictable. I've gained about 35
pounds so far and I'm only 6 months!! But
I only have a few small stretch marks on
either side of my belly button. I'll
probably end up paying in the end, the
baby still has a lot of growing to do, but
you would think with so much weight gain
that I'd have a lot more. I do have a
huge ugly surgery scar right down the
middle though, so I don't really have
anything to brag about. You just never
know whose gonna get stretchies or when
they'll get them.

I gained 59 in my pregnancy and had NO
stretch marks on my belly, but I did have
some on my thighs and butt.
Cocoa butter doesn't work, it's genetic
and skin type.

i had absolutely horrible stretchmarks. i
gained a little over 40lbs. i didn't get
any stretchies until i was like, 32wks or
something.
i used cocoa butter my whole pregnancy.
everyday. didn't do a damn thing. though i
am sure it didn't hurt.
there's nothing you can do to prevent
them.
mine have faded a tiny bit. but i doubt
they will fade a whole lot. my son is 2
months old & most of them are still
super red & purple.

it tottaly does depend on the person, my
skin is very prone to stretch marks hense
why i've got some although i did think i
would have more by now. keeping your
stomach and surrounding areas moisturised
is said to help

i got no stretchmarks with my first or
third pregnancy but got two just above my
pubic area with my second pregnancy. they
are small and have faded alot since (he is
just over a year old) they just look
silvery now and i hardly ever notice them.
i used bio oil with my first pregnancy and
didn't get any stretchmarks so maybe it
works

stretchmarks ***...but hey, people get em.
I know I sure as hell did!!!
I look like I've been mauled by a wild
animal!
Although they've faded a ton, the
elasticity in my belly has totally gone to
the shltter. It's not *super* bad. But,
I'm pregnant again, and any chance of
salvaging my belly is out the window.
I gained 60lbs with my first child. ANd
plan to only gain the alotted 25 for this
one.
I ate waaaaay too much.
I didn't get 1 stretch mark until 30+
weeks. THey spread like *wild fire*!!

i'm sure you will have a beautiful belly
sarah! after being pregnant three times in
2 1/2 years it feels abnormal for my belly
to be small again
i still sometimes go to instinctively
stroke it

That's me! I was such a cocky brat ... "I
dont have ANY stretchies"
Then I got these little red dot's on my
hip's and in the past few weeks they have
just grown and grown!
I'm just forever telling myself they could
be a lot worse.
I only have 4 more weeks... Hopefully They
slow down in that time!

don't count on that. THey'll more than
likely do the *exact* opposite in the last
4 weeks.
If I would have made it to 40 weeks, I can
only imagine how bad mine would be.

I have none on my stomach but I do have
allot on my upper thighs and now getting
some on my "love handles". Oh well, I hope
that they fade with time.

once you have your little one, you'll find
that the stretch marks will fade somewhat,
after some time.
in the meantime i would continue rubbing
cocoa butter on your skin, to make your
skin more elastic and reducing the chances
of having more or worse stretch marks.
either way, be proud of them, being
pregnant, giving birth and raising a child
is the most amazing journey! good luck!
here's a link to an article 'is there a
cure for stretch marks' from a health tv
show called 'what's good for you' in
australia. [link removed]

So I'm about 34 weeks now and I've got em!
I just got a bunch around my belly button
and I'm sure I'll get more. I don't
really mind though. I thought they'd be
worse since I've gained almost 50 pounds
so far!
