I have been having nightmares every night
now for the past two months about an
episode my mother had when I was in high
school.
I was popular in school when it happened.
My mother was having an episode, but didnt
want to get help. she showed up to my
school, so I went outside to talk to her,
to try and get her to get some help. She
didnt want any. The principal called the
police to come and get her, and they were
on their way. As soon as they showed up
she had a knife and grabbed me, sticking
the knife by my throat. She was
threatning to kill me if they didn't back
off. As soon as they were starting to
back away, the lunch bell rang and all the
students came out the front door, which we
were directly in front of. To make a long
story short, the kids were laughing at my
mom, the police had disarmed her and put
her in the back of the police car, and I
was left there with everyone staring at
me.
I keep having the same nightmare, which
wakes me up sweating and crying horribly.
I am shaking and can't seem to calm myself
down. This happened over 7 years ago.
Why am I just now getting the nightmares??
Please help.

Omg I hope you can get into some therapy,
and have friends and family that will be
there. Give you love, hugs and emotional
support you so much deserve.
That is truly such a traumatic event.
No one can know what you feel like or
have gone through.
From one person to another my heart goes
out to you and your family.

Hi sarah, are you still having that
nightmare? Yes, it's so weird that you'd
start having such an reacurring dream
almost *a decade* after the actual event
took place!
Tell me - where is your mother now, in
other words, are you living apart? Also
how have you been feeling lately (not
connected with the dream or it's obvious
psychological impact)... have there any
emotionally stressful events been
happening in your life lately? What kind
of a person are you... would you call your
self a happy, emotionally healthy young
woman?
Sorry for all the (personal) questions
sarah, but we have to know more details
about you in order to better understand
your situation...
