Probable Ms And Early Treatment Posted: 02-22-04 18:26pm
I'm a 32-year-old mother of two who began
having mild ms symptoms two months ago
(tingling, shooting pains in hands and
feet). An mri showed a single lesion and
the csf showed borderline igg levels (.57
igg index). The symptoms have been
present over 3 months without remitting,
so it's difficult to say if it's a single
"attack" or a series of small ones.
With a "probable ms" diagnosis from my
neurologist, would there be risks in
starting interferon beta 1a treatment
before a definitive diagnosis?
Besides typical symptomatology (remissions
and relapses of the symptoms), MRI-scan
and Ig-G-level in the CSF there is a
fourth diagnostic procedure named evoked
sensory electric potentials.
Have you ever made such medical
examination?
