I think .Amelia is attached to me already.
When I leave her with my Ma to run
errands, shes all right until she notices
me gone. Shes the same way at home. I cant
clean house because she will cry till shes
red in the face until I give her attention
then she while start laughing. lol When
she was just born I would sit and love on
her for hours. Then when she starting
getting to were she notices things, I
would let her lay in the floor and watch
baby einstein. It was all good up until
couple of weeks ago.
The thing is I may get this job where I
work for mental children and I have always
wanted that type of job. But Im not sure
If I could leave her like this. My friend
has offered to keep her if I take this job
but I dont want .Amelia crying all day
because Im not there. But we really need
the money right now.
I dont know what to do??? Any advice??

I had to jump on the band wagon on this
one. When my daughter was 4 months old, I
had to start leaving her with
daycare. There was not if ands or buts, and
if she cried, there was nothing I could
do....I had to get a job to support the
two of us. I later learned this was called
separation anxiety, but as she got use the
idea that Mommy was coming back and her
routine was the same each week, she didn't
cry. I know this will break your heart as
it did mine 22 years ago. But your
daughter is little and if you need to go
out to provide a secure future for your
family, I am very proud of you. Wait until
she is almost 23 and tells you she TOTALLY
understands and wants to be just like you!

Ava started that around 4 months. My mom
watches her and has been around her since
day 1. She's just as comfortable with her
as she is with us. My husband watches her
when he's off too. Her crying when I
leave is never a problem, but putting her
down so I can cook and clean is. She
cries unless I go play with her.
She'll get use to it and understand after
a while that you always come back for her.
Never sneak out though. Have a little
goodbye ritual, so she can understand.

thanks! that helped so much! It already
breaks my heart just thinking about it.
But I need to do this and it will be
better off in the long run when she starts
school. I just dont want to make her sad

Can you remember when you were 3 months
old? No you can't, you are doing a very
good thing sweetie. When she gets older
then, you can worry. But please, don't
feel like you're being a bad mother. I
felt that way leaving my daughter. It tore
me up, but I knew I had to do this to make
us a brighter future. She will be proud of
you later on just wait and see!

Ava does exactly what Amelia does. I was
told by many people to just let her cry
but i cant just do that when she loses her
breathe from crying so hard. So of course
I go to her. Its just so hard.

She may cry at first, but once she adjusts
and develops a rapport with her caregiver
she will settle in. She may cry crocodile
tears the first time you leave, but once
she realizes it isn't going to get her
anywhere she will stop.
It's a great feeling to have someone who
loves you that much isn't it?

Amelia is almost 10 months now and she
just started doing this at 7 months old.
But she didn't cry when i left her down
stairs at the keep. but while i am
cleaning she will cry and cry and i jsut
have to do it later.
If you need the job and you have to leave
her it's hard...but she will get used to
it and she will start to stop crying. she
is a baby and babies do stuff like
this...it will be ok...yo have to do what
you gotta do to get by.

my son went throught the same thing at
that age...you have to let her cry it out
sometimes and show your presence ....thats
what sarah told me to do and it worked.
now he only cries like that when hes tired
or hungry.

I know it is hard to leave our babies.
My only suggestion would be to make sure
and take the blanket or toy that your
child is with the most to have something
familiar with them and it will give off a
scent or feeling of home.
Good Luck
